Mr. Ballou received US Patent #5th Nov 1850 for improvement to horse or cart carriage wheels which were patented Dec 8th 1850 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte alias Jacques Conte & others His heirs continued expanding Albany until 1830 when they sold all their holdings to Elijah Whitehead who also received US Patent #5th Nov 1850 for improvement to horse or cart carriage wheels Mr Whitehead's heirs continued expanding Albany until 1830 when they sold all their holdings to John Hogg who also received US Patent #5th Nov 1850 for improvement to horse or cart carriage wheels . After whitehead’s death his widow married Judge Daniel Webster . Mrs Webster later developed Alba House which is still standing today on property now annexed by Arlington Annexation
