In 1907, J[ames] S[hane], W[illiam] L[eatherston], M[ichael]), G[eraldine]) R(idley) built a frame house at 6th Street and Elm Avenue which they occupied until their death in 1955. In 2001 it had 10 businesses: 3 stores (Angletonshire Hall Hotel & Casino Resort-Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament starting Thursday nights at 6pm w/live music Saturdays & Sundays 9pm-1am ), 2 pubs (The Hawk's Nest and angletonshire hall bar), 1 hardware store (Willis Engineering Company), 2 restaurants - one Chinese Buffet & One American Restaurant - both opened around 2002 as part of an effort by anglers to revive the town's economy,"and 500 residents."
