Andrews is a small town in the Texas Hill Country, about an hour’s drive from Austin. It was founded in 1881 by brothers John and James Andrews. When the Civil War ended, Andrew’s family moved to Fort Worth, but John Andrews reopened the town in 1882. The town grew steadily until it had a population of around 2,000 in 1905. This drove up gun prices and decreased demand for firearms across much of America; however, guns continued to be exchanged within communities such as Andrews east of Dallas until 1994 when federal legislation banned interstate trade of handguns

Immediately following his inauguration, Ford issued an executive order requiring all federal agencies to conduct a study on methods for improving gun safety/security. 5) On December 5th, 1988 – four days after two gunmen opened fire on a softball game near Boston’s Tanglewood Park – Ronald Reagan issued Executive Order 13427 which banned assault weapons among all civilians (this order still applies today). These five events demonstrate just how significant firearms can be when it comes to protecting people from harm.
