Andrews was founded in 1881 by Andrew J. Andrews and his father, John Andrews. The city of Andrews was established in 1907 by Andrew J. and Lillie Bigham and named for their home on Old Hyde Road in central Andrews. The first school in what would become Andrews opened on October 1, 1881, with just 10 students from four homes. After a year of classes, the school closed due to lack of funding and re-opened as a public school on November 6th with 30 students from six homes under one roof for the first time ever! In 1893 when the original post office was established at present day main street corner (now east side of Main Street), local citizens donated land to build a depot that would serve as an early mail station for all surrounding counties - this also created new business opportunities for Andrews! In 1906 when another post office was established at Broadmoor Avenue (just north of current day Main Street), two years afterAndrews incorporation as a town, Andrew's Merchants Merchants Association set up shop there to sell items such as groceries and hardware to customers travelling through town on horseback or carriages! The city's first library opened its doors in 1912 with bookshelves filled with more than 100 volumes! Today, part of downtown features streetscape designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted & Sons - including "Broadmoor Avenue," which borders downtown on one side while continuing onto adjacent rural land on the other! This unique layout has been replicated throughout much of Williamson County - making it easy for visitors to find everything they need within minutes' walk or drive!

Polk and his expedition discovered what would later become Andrews County on the Gulf coast of present day Texas. The county seat was Port Arthur until it moved to Galveston in 1881. In 1876, cattle rancher John Hogg donated land where Andrews ISD now stands for a public school district that became called Hogg's Valley School District #2. This district included much of present day Montgomery County including parts of downtown Andrews and most of parts east and west of Galveston Island (now Travis County). In 1915, when the city limits were expanded to include all but eastern Arlington (a separate municipality), Hogg's Valley School District #2 became part of City Limits High School which still serves students within city limits today despite being located inside Montgomery County boundaries since 1915
Andrews, Texas was founded in 1836 by Captain John Andrews and his family. The area that now includes Andrews was part of the San Antonio Missions, and they were the first permanent European settlers in what is now central Texas. In 1839, Captain Andrews married Maria Lamarque and they had six children. In 1840, Andrew's brother-in-law, George Sanger, founded the town of Aliceville on a small creek near present-day downtown Andrews. The town grew rapidly because of its natural resources - salt water Buffalo Bayou and sandy soil - which led to its nickname "The Land of Natural Wells." By 1865, Aliceville had a population of 2,500 people.
