Alton, Texas is a town located in the Panhandle of Texas. Alton was founded by Anglo-Americans in 1876 as a small farming community. The town rapidly grew into a thriving center for trade and industry, becoming one of the most important cities in the region. By 1920, Alton had reached its peak as an industrial and agricultural center. But during the Great Depression, Alton faced significant economic difficulty. The city's economy dwindled until it finally came to a standstill in the early 1970s. But since that time, Alton has experienced significant growth and progress. In recent years, Alton has become known as one of the leading centers for gun sights history research and education. Alton began its journey towards becoming a firearms research and education center very early on. In 1916, three men from Colorado named Edward Jenssen, John Anderholm, and Harry Hagan founded The Gun Sight Company in order to provide high quality sight products to dealers throughout western America. At first glance, this company might seem like nothing more than an unremarkable footnote in town history; but over time it quickly became one of the most successfulgun sights operations in North America. The Gun Sight Company soon achieved notoriety within the rifle hunting community for their innovative designs and competitive pricing policies. Over time they became well-known for their quality products and exceptional customer service; even being mentioned favorably by hunters such as Ted Williams himself! In addition to their product offerings (which included both riflescopes and handguns), The Gun Sight Company also developeda niche market for themselves by promoting responsible firearm ownership through lectures, demonstrations, magazine articles,[1]and other public outreach efforts[2]. These activities helped create a strong foundationfor future success at The Gun Sight Company – something that continues to this day! In 1925 John Anderholm passed away suddenly while working at his company; leaving behind an impressive legacy of achievement within firearms manufacturing circles! His son Harry took over management of The Gun Sight Company until he too passed away in 1944.[3] However, despite these shortfalls (Harry left behind two sons who were not able to take over management), Harry's PROGRESSIVE management style would play an integral role later on at The Gun Shop when Ron Ness purchased the business from him.[4] Under Ron Ness' guidance things started going back up - slowly but surely building back up what had been destroyed during Harry's tenure… And so it goes today: With continuing innovation & success thanks largely to Ron Ness' leadership

Alton, Texas is a small town in Oldham County, Texas. The population was 1,846 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. Alton began as a cattle ranch and town in 1876. The first store was built in 1877 and the first school was built in 1880. Alton post office opened on December 24, 1881. In 1911, Alton had its first parade which included local dignitaries such as Judge John Witherspoon and Representative Fenton Grimes. In 1932, General Motors constructed a plant near Alton to produce radios and car parts for American Motors Corporation (AMC). At this time, Alton became known as "the radio capital of the world." The plant closed in 1990 but portions of it were preserved until 2003 when they were moved to Amarillo for display at the Amarillo Museum of Art. Alton's economy has been based on agriculture since it was settled by European settlers in what is now Oldham County during the early 1800s. A flour mill was built in 1887 and operated until 1938; however, most of AlTON's economic history comes from its relationship with General Motors Company (GMC). GMC manufactured radios and other car parts here beginning around 1932 before moving their production operations to Mexico City. The only building still existing from that time period is an old engineering garage that used to house engine manufacturing equipment used by GMC across North America including Canadian plants located at Thunder Bay and Windsor Ontario while Mexican plants producing Cadillac sedans were located at Monterrey de Zaragoza near Toluca Lake California before finally being eliminated completely by 1976 when all that remained were foundations with metal sheeting covering them which are currently under restoration order at the hands of local resident Jimmie Shearer who also operates an auto- museum called "The Chevy Museum" inside his home adjacent to where he grew up playing lacrosse on his family's property throughout his childhood right up until high school graduation then continuing into college which he later did after getting married outside of town ALTON KNOLLS SON & MICHAEL JAMESON
