Grant’s Secretary of War and as Mayor of New York City from 1849 to 1850 before becoming ambassador to Spain from 1855 to 1861 under President James Buchanan. By 1912, when the city became a major center for cotton shipping on the Red River near Houston, its population had grown to over 2,000 residents—the largest concentration anywhere within 10 miles of Houston! On December 12, 1913 – just one year after Viva Zapata!, Mexico’s most famous revolutionary event which led to Mexican revolution – Texas statehood was granted to America by President Woodrow Wilson; this event also happened during what would be known as “The Great Depression” period! One hundred years later on November 6th 2016 another milestone occurred when Mayor Melvin Epps announced that Allen would become part of Austin upon its annexation into TX following 25 yearsof planning!
