Allen, Texas is home to the oldest gun light in the United States. The first handguns were made here and it was used for target practice. Gun lights began being used on a large scale in 1927. In 1951, the town of Allen passed an ordinance that banned handguns but allowed rifle and shotgun shooting. This law still stands today.

In 1916, due to World War I efforts by local residents, Representative John Fenton (R-Midland) appointed Mayor Harry Davenport as head of an all-volunteer City Planning Commission that developed plans for expandingAllen with new commercial districts and other public improvements that became reality over time including: Pritchard Bridge Park; Harold's Wells Shopping Center; First Methodist Church (now Second Baptist Church); Gaea Drive; Interstate 10/Uptown Boulevard intersection; and Cedar Springs Shopping Center - now known as Cedar Springs Place mall - which still stands today as one of the most vibrant shopping areas in downtown Dallas! In 1978, during the height of disco fever nationwide, Allen organized its own Disco Demolition Night Celebration which served as an event where DJs smashed up dance floors throughout downtownDallas while revelers enjoyed light snacks from local businesses like Jugglers' Den & Grille before heading out on foot or carpooling home afterwards! Today Allen retains much of its pioneer spirit with simmering grassroots activism spearheaded by group such as Citizens Against High Speed Rail who are constantly fighting against proposed high speed rail lines running through their town center – coordinated with popular events such as Farmers' Market Days featuring local produce grown right here in our tiny little community!

In 1870, an agricultural fair was held at the site and helped bring new life toAllen after years of drought. In 1902, steel production began here and soon touched off a period of rapid growth that continues to this day. Growth led to environmental problems; by 1949 (the year before I moved to Allen), only 9% of all residential homes were built using natural gas because there wasn't enough available oil resources nearby for such high-density development! The boom ended around 1970 due to falling prices for oil and other minerals and joblessness among those who worked in industry during that time frame. However, some residents have fought tirelessly for more than 40 years to keep Allen alive as a small town with significant cultural values and history - from sponsoring annual events like the Christmas pageant (which has been done every year since 1984) until forming their own non-profit organization called "The Heritage Committee" which restores local historical landmarks & buildings within the community
Allen, Texas was a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas. It was founded by James Fenton in 1869. The town grew slowly until it became a small village in 1907. A post office was established in 1908 and remained in operation until it closed in 1951. Allen experienced growth during World War II with the arrival of the USAAF presence at nearby Randolph Air Force Base. The population peaked at 1,500 people in 1950 before declining to around 500 people by 1960. The pull of the military base faded and the population gradually declined over the next few decades. In 2000, the town voted to become an independent city and lost its status as a rural community.
