In recent years, Alice has seen growth in its nightlife sector; however much like other small towns across America this growth has come at a cost - access to essential services such as schools and health care have decreased while jobs have disappeared due to outsourcing or changes in technology brought about by global competition - yet residents continue to lead active lives without fear of abandonment or displacement by larger communities closer to metropolitan areas.
