The Alamo, located in San Antonio, Texas was the scene of a bloody and violent showdown between Texans and Mexican soldiers on April 6, 1836. The outnumbered Texans were trying to protect their capital from an invasion by Mexican General Santa Anna. The Mexicans were seeking revenge for the death of their leader, Antonio Lopez de Zavala. Infighting ensued as both sides fought for control of key strategic points within the walls of the fort. By midnight on April 6th, only 50 men remained alive in the fortification. A group of Texan militia led by Lt. David Hogg had been defending a position inside the fort against an advancing Mexican force that numbered around 3,000 men. Withdrawing to safety within the walls, Hogg ordered his men not to fire on their retreating enemies but rather retreat into safe buildings nearby to reload their firearms and await orders from higher up. As night fell, Mexican forces continued to pour into the fortifications; eventually reaching as high as 20 feet above ground level! By morning next day (April 7), only 8 Texan defenders still lived – including Hogg and one other officer – inside thefortifications with over 3,000 attacking Mexicans raining down upon them from all sides! As dawn began to break on April 7th there were only 2 Texan survivors remaining Alive: lieutenant david hogg and one other officer

Positive pressure is used when shooting pistols where manual operations are required such as revolvers and shotguns; negative pressure is typically used for rifles where semi-automatic operation is desired.
