During World War II, Alamo Ammunition produced shell casings used by the United States Navy in their combat vessels such as destroyers, submarines and battleships. After World War II ended, Alamo Ammunition resumed its previous production schedule but ceased sales in 1957 because technological advances had made new types of projectiles more effective than older types
