The history of Tullahoma gun magazines starts with the founding of the first magazine in 1909. At that time, there were only a few firearms stores in Tullahoma and there was not much demand for firearm magazines. The first magazine owner, Wm. Henson, decided to start his own business and he made his debut with two issues of the "Tullahoma Rifle Review" monthly. He quickly became known as one of the leading publishers of rifle magazines in Tennessee. In 1924-1925, Mr. Henson purchased a building at 12th and Broadway which served as the magazine's permanent home until he sold it in 1951. In 1935-1936, Mr. Henson built a second building on Second Street which served as our sales office and editorial staff headquarters from 1936 until we moved to our current location on Broad Street in 1951. Magazine publications have been published here ever since!
Tullahoma, Tennessee is a small town located in Johnson County, Tennessee. The population was 3,827 at the 2000 census. It is the most populous municipality in Johnson County and the second-most populous municipality inTennessee after Memphis. The name "Tullahoma" comes from the Cherokee word tulla (a grasshopper). The first white settlers of Tullahoma were James Pickett and his family who arrived in 1815. Pickett was responsible for surveyor duty on the Cumberland River and built a cabin thereabouts on July 25, 1816. He named it "Pickett's Landing." In 1830, John Sevier became one of the first white men to live permanently in Tullahoma and he erected a log cabin on what is now First Avenue North. Seven years later, he sold his land to David Dixon for $1,000 cash. On February 22, 1835, James Kiffin purchased land from Sevier east of Blacksmith Creek for $2 per acre from Wheeler Buggs and moved into what is now First Avenue North. He named it Kiffin's Corners after himself and his brother-in-law Uriah McGillivray Kiffin (1799 –1876). On March 17, 1837, he married Eunice Weeks (1804 –1875). They had six children: Harry CramerKiffin (1838 –1926), Josephine PulaskiKiffin (1840 –1922), George Wofford Kiffin (1842–1920), Augusta Belle Kiffin (1844–1924)and Anna Florence Kiffin(1846–1901). In 1840 they also acquired title to 4 acres adjoining their home which they developed into an large cotton plantation called "House Rock". From this plantation they raised over 100 families until 1865 when they sold it to General Nathan Bedford Forrest for $10 million dollars which made him richest man in America at that time. In 1865 Forrest leased House Rock from General John Bell Hood who then turned it over to Pemberton Coke Company with intentions of developing it as a coal mine but found no coal thereon so leased back it back to Forrest for another 20 years during which time many homes were built onsite including those currently occupied by State University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Purchasing power companies began buying up these leases giving rise to the current development pattern whereby developers purchase tracts of land adjacent either state universities or other government buildings thereby securing access not onlyto valuable real estate but alsoto regulatory approvals necessary for building permits while avoiding any potential conflictual dealings with university officials or students

The town of Tullahoma, located in eastern Tennessee, was founded by the Cherokee Nation in 1819. The area that now makes up Tullahoma was first inhabited by the Chickasaws and other Native American tribes. In 1818, General James H. Wilkinson commissioned Major General William C. Sanders to explore the area of what is now Tullahoma County. After a journey of more than sixty miles (100 km), Sanders discovered land that would soon become part of Tullahoma County. The first white settlers arrived in this area in 1820, and soon began developing the land for agriculture and development. By 1830, many people had moved to this region due to its fertile soil and good climate. Over time, however, the town of Tullahoma slowly grew into a significant community with a variety of businesses and services available to its residents. In 1861, Confederate forces invaded Tennessee and began fighting against the Union army under President Abraham Lincoln. The town quickly became one of the most hotly contested areas during this time period as Confederate forces fought against Union troops for control over various villages and towns within their territory. On December 12th, 1862, after several days of skirmishes and fighting, Confederate forces came ashore at Fort Donelson on Lake Cumberland near present-day Chattanooga. This event marked an important turning point in Tennessee history as it helped bring about Union victory over Confederate forces at Battle Creek Bridge (October 16th). As a result of this battle, many Atlanta-based officers were posted to Fort Donelson including Lieutenant Colonel Robert Evers who later served as Governorof Tennessee (1865-1869). Aftermath of Civil War: Aftermath of Civil War: Tullahoma continued to be an important community during Reconstruction following the end of the Civil War. District Attorney General Brent Scowcroft posthumously awarded him the Medal Of Honor for his heroism during this time period.. In 1870s there was growthboomin nearby Chattanooga when railroad companies decided to build tracks through rural areas looking for new markets for their products.. Between 1890sand 1920s population tripled from 2,,000to 10,,000people .. Growth stopped beginning around 1930 because World War II interrupted economic activity
The town of Tullahoma, Tennessee was formed in 1853 when the settlers of what is now Knox County, Tennessee founded a small community on the banks of the Cumberland River. The town quickly grew and by 1875 had a population of over 100 people. The town's success as a commercial center led to it becoming an important railroad junction. In 1886, Tullahoma became the county seat for Knox County.
