Hensley and his brother-in-law, John Brownell. The Brownells soon became a dominant force in Chattanooga Ammunition Manufacturing Company, and began producing shells and bullets for soldiers throughout the war. In 1865, they merged with J.B. Stuart's Savannah Ammunition Company to form Confederate Ammunition Corporation. After the war ended, Confederate Ammunition Corporation continued to produce munitions until it was dissolved in 1877 by order of President Rutherford B Hayes as part of a broader effort to liquidate all Confederate businesses throughout America. Today, Tullahoma is home to several gun dealers and manufacturers who continue to produce ammunition products such as handguns and rifles.

During World War I ammunition production increased thanks to technology developments such as motion picture film photography and air-dropped bombs which made it possible for combatants on both sides to use larger calibers than ever before. Tullahoma, Tennessee is a town in Marshall County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Birmingham–Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area. Tullahoma was founded by General John Custer on November 9, 1868 as a post office called "Galloway". After he died in 1887, his wife took over the post office and renamed it "Custer", after him. In 1925, the post office was consolidated with nearby Decatur and changed its name to Tullahoma again. At that time it consisted of just a few homes and a small store. By 1970, when the area became an urban center with multiple businesses and services along Main Street downtown (now city Limits Drive), Tullahoma had grown to include more than 100 homes, several churches and businesses. The first permanent settler in what would become Tullahoma were two brothers named Levi Cobb who homesteaded on land east of what is now downtown Tullahoma in 1871-72. The first school in what would become Tullahoma was built on land north of present day First Avenue south of Burkburnett Creek Road in 1875-76 by teacher Mrs. Burt Harkins using her home's furnace room as a classroom for her students grades one through six; this school remained open until 1898 when it burned down due to termite infestation which also destroyed much property including Mrs Harkins' barns located behind her home which are still standing today looking out over First Avenue where she taught from early childhood until her death at age 93 years old during 1955 tornado damage; however not all memories associated with Mrs Harkins' schools disappeared with them such as an 1893 photochromatic camera she used to take photos of local dignitaries while they visited her home prior to their arrival inside town during a formal dinner hosted by Mayor Sims (later spelled Singleton) taken indoors before their departure outside on horseback across Burkburnett Creek Road during ceremonies honoring Confederate Gen Joseph Wheeler ; this camera has been found inside Mrs Harkins' house under the couch cushions since her death In 1896 another teacher named Lula Good published A Book about Schools Which She Bought for $1 which sold well both within and without Shelbyville; this book encouraged others throughout Shelbyville to start their own schools In 1902 Wm Fenton opened up his general store at 401 Main Street which served as the nucleus around which other businesses began forming such as bakery J & W Bakery started off providing bread for locals restaurants like Piedmont Cafeteria soon followed by Tangy Gardens proding fresh fruits/veggies/pancakes etc Mr. Fenton died suddenly leaving his business assets undistributed but many believe his legacy will live on forever due to how tangy gardens quickly became one of most popular street names in downtown Tullahomas days becoming known collectively as tangy streets or simplyTangy Streets today
In 1819, Indian traders founded Tullahoma on the Cumberland River in what is now Davidson County. The town was named for a Chief of the Chickasaw Nation and was established as a trading post by white traders. In 1836, the United States acquired land south of the Cumberland River from Spain in the Mexican-American War. As part of this acquisition, Tullahoma became part of US territory. The town experienced rapid growth during its early years, due to its strategic location and access to resources such as coal and timber. However, during the late 1800s, Tullahoma began to decline as it lost significance as a commercial center due to competition from more important settlements in Tennessee and Kentucky. By 1920, however, Tullahoma had regained some of its former prominence as a regional centerdue to its rich history and importance within Tennessee's agricultural economy. During World War II, Tullahomans played an important role inthe war effort by providing goods and services to local military installations. After the war ended,Tullahoma experienced increased development throughout the decades that followed until it reached its current state today.
