The success of these tugboats led Colonel Cushing to erect two other target stands - one near the water’s edge on Camp Creek and another slightly inland on Cemetery Hill Road within sight of downtown Springfield. These stands proved so successful that he decided to keep both enterprises going until 1872 when he sold them all together to Major General James Hayslett for $2,500 dollars cash! It wasn’t until 1889 that rifle shootings commenced at Ritchie’s Target stand again with private individuals beginning taking turns taking aim at small game inside the stands during daylight hours only! By 1896 however, shotgun shootings had become prevalent with people utilizing shotguns instead of cannons for their target practice! In recent years however things have started to change again at Springfield: due to declining sales rates among residents relative to neighboring cities such as Memphis or Chattanooga (both of which have seen much bigger populations over the past few decades), municipal officials have turned their attention towards developing new areas within the city limits instead of focusing on expanding existing neighborhoods or renovating old ones. This shift has resulted in some negative consequences: For example, there are now several abandoned buildings within sight of both downtown streetscape and riverfront properties; making access to many basic amenities more challenging than it used to be; while also reducing overall housing stock within District 9."
