Spring Hill is part of the Nashville–Davidson Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that now makes up Spring Hill was first settled by Scots-Irish farmers in the late 18th century. By the early 20th century, most of this land had been bought and sold by investors who began to subdivide and build homes in what is now Spring Hill. The townsite was platted on July 6, 1907, by Jeptha Hargrave and others as a subdivision of Chattanooga, Tennessee. One of the first things that people did when they arrived in SpringHill was to clear away some of the older growth around them so that they could build their homes closer to water supply and other essential services. Today much of downtown SpringHill still looks like it did when it was platted - there are few buildings from more recent times except for one local hospital which has since closed down. Today many people live close to nature – there are several miles of trails running through town including a half mile loop walk called "The Green Loop." There's also an extensive library system with over 350 books on various topics including history, world cultures, science fiction, poetry and more. Additionally, there are several restaurants and stores located within walking distance of each other as well as shopping areas in surrounding towns such as Pigeon Forge (just outside town) and Lincolnton (about 15 minutes away). In addition to all these amenities, SpringHill offers plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking/biking/scouting or fishing; tennis or golf; swimming; etc., making it a great place to spend any day!

Spring Hill is a town in Pulaski County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,859 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Pulaski County and the home of many springs and waterfalls. SpringHill is also known for its 18th-century courthouse, which still stands and has been used as a museum since 1976. The town was founded by General John Sevier on May 12, 1775, during the American Revolutionary War. Sevier named his new settlement after General James Wilkinson's plantation in North Carolina then under British control. When Sevier learned that Wilkinson would be arriving in Tennessee to help lead an army against George Washington, he decided to move his colony into what would become SpringHill. In 1776, when Sevier discovered that the British were planning to attack Knoxville with an army under Lieutenant Colonel Francis Marion led by Major James Robertson (the future William Hickman), he moved his colonists into a fortified cabin near where modern day Vanderbilt University stands today. In 1784, SpringHill became part ofKnoxville when it was annexed by Knoxville proper from Decatur County. The first post office opened in 1811 and remained open until 1828; it was renamedSpringhill until 1955 when it changed its name back to Pulaski County Courthouse Square after being designated as such by theTennessee General Assembly pursuant to Act No 73-4 of 1955 (). In 1865 Confederate GENERAL PEPPER BROWN'S force withdrew from Chattanooga due to Union forces besieging that city; some of Brown's men destroyed more than 20 homes before withdrawing northward through Pulaski County towards Tellico Plains Campaign Headquarters approximately four miles east of present day SpringHill on State Route 655 about two miles west of downtown Knoxville (). When Reconstruction ended in 1865 following the American Civil War, most African Americans living south of Nashville had fled northward into Radical Republican Tennessee because black slavery remained legal within Confederate America despite Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation granting freedom to all slaves within eight months of its issuance on April 20th – one year after Abraham Lincoln took office as US President on March 4th (). Many black Tennesseans chose not flee but instead moved upriver along Cumberland River Valley into West Tennessee or Jackson Territory (see Black Migration). Most white Tennesseans continuedto support slavery while they awaited political changes leading up to statehood in 1907 which finally freed all slaves statewide effective January 1st., 1909().
