Soddy Daisy is a small town in Hardin County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,889 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1857 by settlers from Scotland and England who arrived on horseback on the Cumberland River. A post office called Soddy Daisy was established in 1859, and the name was changed to its current form in 1903. In 1907, Soddy Daisy incorporated as a village. The community experienced heavy agricultural production until World War II when manufacturing became dominates due to new technology brought over by the war industry. However, since then, Soddy Daisy's economy has slowly started to improve thanks to tourism and other businesses that have sprung up in recent years such as a grocery store and an artist gallery. Today, Soddy Daisy is known for its annual Peach Festival which features music, food booths and arts & crafts activities throughout the day.

The name comes from a creek which flowed through the town and its residents were known for their production of daisy flowers. Soddy Daisy is also known for its main street, Main Street U.S.A., which is one of the busiest in the United States. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Tennessee arrived by way of Paducah, Kentucky, on November 3, 1796. They were led by General John Sevier and his party, who had come upriver to find new land for America. The first inhabitants of Tennessee were people who lived near present day Chattanooga. In 1802, they moved to what is now Soddy Daisy and started a cotton plantation named after themselves. The post office at Soddy Daisy was established on December 4, 1802. In 1814-1815, when war was going on between the United States and Great Britain over control of North America, most of the people living around Soddy Daisy enlisted in the military or went off to fight as part of various militias. One man who stayed behind and played an important role in this time period was Major James Wickerham Sr., later became known as "The Father" because he did so much for his community during these tough times. He founded several schools within Soddy Daisy and helped manage its businesses while also working to promote social reform within his village and townspeople alike

It was originally located on the Cumberland River and began to take shape as a small village after being built on land donated by John Sevier. By 1870, the population of Soddy Daisy had grown to about 100 people and it continued to grow until 1920 when it reached its current size.
