The Soddy Daisy Gun Magazine has a long and storied history in the town of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. The magazine was founded in 1903 by W.C. "Fenton" Forester, who also ran the local grocery store. The first issue of the Soddy Daisy Gun Magazine was published on November 1, 1903. The magazine continued to be published sporadically until 1912 when it was replaced by the Soddy Daisy Rifle and Pistol Club's monthly journal which continued until 1944. After World War II, the gun magazine went into hiatus as magazines were no longer produced for firearms in that country. However, it resumed publication in 1955 under new management with a new masthead which read "Soddy DaisyGun Mag". It continued to publish until 1996 when it merged with another locally-owned gun magazine called "The Arsenal", Incorporated.
Soddy Daisy is a small town in Williamson County, Tennessee. The population was 714 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Memphis metropolitan area. The community was first settled by Scots-Irish immigrants in 1825 and named for their local Daisy family farmstead. By 1860, Soddy Daisy had a post office, five churches, two stores and about fifty residents. In 1892, Soddy Daisy was made an incorporated village with a school and library. In 1916 it became an unincorporated village again when the Common School District absorbed its trusteeship. After World War II, growth slowed as factories closed or relocated to other parts of the country; however, economic revival began in the late 1990s with new housing developments beginning to be built in Soddy Daisy and neighboring townships around it. The current name of Soddy Daisy comes from nearby Springdale which was also called "Soddy" after some early settlers thereabouts: David Sprague (1820 - 1865), James Sprague (1827 - 1861) and John Sprague (1829 - 1896). Springdale's namesake spring once served as a source of water for both villages until 1924 when it became Deerpark Lake after being donated by General Robert E Lee's widow to help fund his army campaign during the American Civil War

Soddy Daisy is a small town located in Hamilton County, Tennessee. It was founded in 1825 by settlers from nearby Athens, Alabama. The namesake of the town was a white cow named Daisy that grazed on the land around present day Soddy Daisy. The first post office was established in Soddy Daisy in 1827. The population of Soddy Daisy peaked at 235 in 1930, but declined to 100 by 1940. There were no residents resident during World War II because the town did not need military personnel and civilian workers to support the war effort. The population decreased again after the war, until it reached its current level of only 10 people in 2000. The history of Soddy Daisy began with two families who settled there around 1825 and 1830 respectively. They were part of what is known as the "Old Settlers" group which arrived in Tennessee Valley country seeking new homes and opportunities for their children. In 1825, John Neely purchased 640 acres (249 ha) of land from Joshua Aiken for $5 per acre ($200 at current prices). This purchase marked the beginning of what would become Neely's farmstead along with his six other family members: Rebecca, Andrew Neely Sr., James Aiken Jr., Jane Aiken III (Margaret), Sarah Denton (Sarah Ann), and John Hogg (John Hargrave). By 1830, three generations had grown up on this property: Rebecca, Andrew Jr., James Sr., and Sarah Ann had married brothers or sisters and plus additional children had been born since they first settled thereabouts; these included seven-year old Martha Smith who later became Mrs. Cofer Blackett/Neely/Brownett It was during this time that many important events occurred within Soddy Daisy including: 1) Creek Indian Wars fought between United States Indians and Native Creek Nation 2) Oneida Massacre when 300 American citizens were killed by Native Americans nearpresent day Chattanooga 3) First Baptist Church built on site now home to Ross College 4) Cherokee Removal Act led by General Arthur MacArthur forced Cherokee Nation off their lands 5) Battle for Stones River fought between Union forces under General Nathan Bedford Forrest & Confederate General Robert E Lee
Soddy Daisy, Tennessee was first settled in 1819 by James Soddy. The name is derived from the Hardee County seat of Smithville and is anglicized to Soddy Daisy. The community was platted in 1839, and became a city in 1907.
