In Smyrna, Tennessee, there are many scope mounts from the 1930s and 1940s. Many of these mounts were made by the Schneider Manufacturing Company, which became known for its telescopes and mountings. In the 1930s, Schneider began making scope mounts that could be attached to rifles using clamps and screws. The company also produced a type of saddle mount that allowed shooters to use their rifles in a bipod or tripod position. The 1940s saw a resurgence in interest in optics and rifle shooting, as World War II began. As people prepared for war, they started looking for ways to increase their firepower. One waylers was to find ways to attach scopes to rifles using clamps and screws instead of traditional methods such as straps and bolts. This change in accessory design allowed rifle shooters to move more freely around battlefields while still being able to rely on their scopes for sighting in target maneuvers. During the 1940s and 1950s, Scope Mount Companies like Schneider continued making high-quality scope mounts that remained popular throughout the years. Some of these company's products include models designed for British sniper rifles such as the Savage Sniper Rifle Mk V1A (1949), American Winchester Model 70 (1951), Israeli Herstal RPK 44/48 sniper rifle (1959), Italian Garand M1895 Carbine (1940), British Browning Hi-Power Pistol Pistol (.45 ACP) (1937), Swiss Mannlicher Schweizerischer Kriegsdienst Gewehr 1898/1900 (.SwissArmy) (1899), Australian AAMI Rifles No 5a Service Gun Barrel Bushmaster Scout Rifle with Scope Mounted at 6 o'clock Well & Hogue Stock 1944 model

Scope mounts are devices that allow a firearm to be attached to the eye of a rifle or shotgun using an adjustable, pan-and-tilt device. Scope mounts are typically used for rifles and shotguns that have a fully automatic firing rate, such as those manufactured by Winchester, Remington, Ruger, Savage and Tikka. Some rifles and shotguns also haveoptional turrets that can be attached to the top of the mount in order to provide variable magnification levels. The purpose of a scope mount is twofold: it allows the shooter to ADS (Aim Down sights) on their firearm while keeping their eyes moving around the field of view; and it provides stabilization for firearms with large Objective lens sizes (e.g., Schmidt & Bender Rifles). There are many different types and brands of scope mounts available on the market today. It is important to research which type of mount will fit your specific firearm before purchasing it as there are many different mounting options available on the market. The most popular types of mounts include Weaver style mounts,Milbrun style mounts, Harris bipod style mounts and most recently they have introduced sling mounting systems which allow you to attach your weapon either from above or below hip level depending on your shooting stance. Weaver Style Mounts: These type ofmounts consist of two pieces: an upper arm rest called a "weaver" that rests atop one or more rails located adjacent to the barrel axis; and a lower arm rest called a "attachr." A Weaver style mount usually has three adjustments - elevation (the turret position), windage (the angle at which rounds enter/exit the rifle) and flip up front sight post adjustment - making it versatile enough for any application whether hunting or target shooting. Many shooters find this design ideal since it gives them plenty of rangeofmotion while retaining stability in all directions even when under recoil loading conditions; however some users find these units difficult to adjust due largely to their location within reach only about four inches from muzzle(a distance considered close by some handgunners). 2 Milbrun Style Mounts: Milbrunstylemounts were designed specifically for sniper rifles utilizing large objective lenses (>4in diameter). They feature two arms totaling about 24in total length with an adjustable pan-and-tilt system capable of rotating 360 degrees between horizontal(normal) positions (+/-25degrees), vertical(up/down) positions (+/+15degrees), left/right translations (-/-5degrees) as well as translational rates up/down +/-45degrees per second inclusive! With its high degree Of freedom both Horizontal&Vertical positions can be adjusted independently +/-25degrees each without affecting other position thereby providing infinite viewing angles possible with just one set up! Additionally there is no need for an arm rest & swivel system like traditional Weaver styles because this unit comes equipped with built in anti-slip feet making adjusting height & direction very easy & convenient! This type bracket can accommodate both barrels equally so if one barrel is mounted higher than another then its ok but make sure you do not exceed 24in overall length otherwise you may experience problems w/muzzle rise

Scope mounts are a common sight on rifles, shotguns and other firearms. They allow the shooter to place the firearm in any desired location while still keeping it protected from view. The first scope mount was designed by Professor George Stonington in 1876. It allowed shooters to place their rifles in various positions, including down low and high, during shooting matches. The development of scope mounts has made it possible for shooters to change the position of their rifle at will, making it easier to acquire target practice or hunting game. Today, there are many different types of Scope Mounts available on the market that cater to specific needs and preferences of shooters. Some common Scope Mount Types include Weaver Style mounts, Picatinny Railmounts and Mil-STD-1913 Style mounts. Weaver style mounts were invented by Professor Weiser in 1916 as a way for shooters to place their rifles in numerous different positions without having to remove them from the gun stock. These mountings use two threaded inserts that go into the rifle’s receiver and attach directly to dovetail rails located on either side of the gun stock). This type of mount is often used on shotguns because they can be placed in a variety of strategic positions while still remaining protectable from view. Picatinny Railmounts were created by Professor Martin Murphy in 1966 as a way for shooters to place their firearms at various points around their house or office without having them removed from the weapon stock. These mounts use three (3) metal plates that are screwed onto each other along one edge and located near where you want your weapon mounted (usually above your handguard). This type of mount is often used on assault rifles because they can be rotated 360 degrees so that all sides are covered (plus up/down). Mil-STD-1913 Style mounting is an advanced mounting system designed by Colonel John Brownell which allows users To change shot placement with relative ease while still protecting the firearm from VIEWING THE RAILMOUNTERS! A Mil-STD 1913 style railmount uses three circular protrusion devices located just aftof centerline on top surface ol barrel) these devices allow you t o rotate o urweapon 360 degrees

The original Expand-On-Scope mount was a simple, plastic piece that allowed you to fit an extra lens on your camera. The mount was designed by none other than Fred Olson, the inventor of the modern zoom lens!
