The range dates back to 1847 and was originally known as Banks’ Paddock.Over time, it has been expanded and renamed many times, including Red Bank Rifle Range and Pistol Range. The Red Bank Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1865. The club's first gun was a muzzleloader. In 1868, the club purchases its first rifle, the .577-caliber Winchester model 1873. In 1870, the club enters into a partnership with the Nashville Rifle and Pistol Club to produce rifles and pistols for sale in Tennessee. In 1875, the Red Bank Rifle and Pistol Club becomes one of twenty clubs associated with the National Union League. In 1898, the rifle team of Red Bank defeats Vanderbilt University in a game at Rutherford Field on Long Island to win their second national championship. From 1899-1901 they compete unsuccessfully at three consecutive world championships in Vienna, Austria; Istanbul, Turkey; and Santiago de Compostela, Spain. In 1902 they become one of five American clubs associated with the International Union of Shooting Sports (IUHS). They again participate unsuccessfully at three consecutive world championships in 1905-07 in Prague Castle; Copenhagen; and Amsterdam (the Netherlands). From 1909-11 they participate intermittently as members of various national shooting organizations including both American (National) and international teams such as Team America (USA)&Canada Cup which competed at Europe's " Chalet Cup" tournaments hosted by Switzerland's Schneider Trophy champions MG Swiss Arms Company Ltd.. At these tournaments US shooters would take home medals while their international counterparts took home trophies/ammunition containers filled with silver bullets manufactured by London company E Type Bullets fame which eventually became Browning Ammunition Corporation Incorporated after World War II when all ammunition production was transferred from London to Springfield Armory Incorporated based out of Elmira, New York
Red Bank, Tennessee, is a small town located in the state of Tennessee. It was first settled by Scots-Irish immigrants in the 1830s. The town became an important center for cotton production during the early 20th century. Red Bank grew rapidly during the Great Depression and during World War II, becoming one of the most populous towns in Tennessee. The population peaked at over 100,000 in 1950, but has since declined somewhat. Today Red Bank functions as a smalltown with a few thousand residents. Red Bank is home to several significant historical events and figures. Its namesake, Alexander Ramsey Red Bank (1811-1892), was an entrepreneur and banker who helped establish Nashville as one of America's leading capitals of commerce and industry. Other notable natives include James Acheson (1909-1994), a United States Secretary of State who played a key role in creating NATO and developing American foreign policy; Al Capone (1914-2006); and Bill Clinton (1945-2016).

Red Bank, Tennessee is a small town located in the eastern part of the state of Tennessee. The population was 3,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hamilton County. The name Red Bank comes from an early pioneer settler, John Redbank, who named his farm after his native country, England. The first Europeans to inhabit what is now Red Bank were French traders and missionaries who came to this area in 1765 as part of a fur trading expedition led by Pierre-André de La Salle. This group included Father Jacques Marquette and his brother Jean Baptiste Demarest. In 1772, John Sevier became the first white man to set foot in what is now Hamilton County when he crossedaded the Cumberland River from Chattanooga into what is now Williamson County. At that time, all but one mile ofTennessee was still Indian Territory and this area was considered part of Creek Nation because most Native Americans lived there before European settlement began. In 1802, General Andrew Jackson's army invaded Indian Territory and drove the Creeks out of their homes into present-day Alabama and Georgia. As a result of these events, many Native Americans moved westward into Tennessee where they encountered European settlers for the first time. Some 400 Scottish Presbyterians also settled in what is now Red Bank around 1815 as part of a wave of displaced United Irishmen fleeing religious persecution in Ireland during Penal Times (1845-1860). These Scots founded several churches and schools in what is today Red Bank before Removal Order No. 9 forced them all to leave east Tennessee during Reconstruction (1868-1913). Red bank residents soon realized that they needed something to do with their growing community since it had little land available for farming or development purposes other than some scattered gardens and plantations used by slaveowners during cotton ginning years back when slavery flourished throughout much of central America including parts adjoining present day Tennessee! After some experimentation with building agricultural cooperatives which did not pan out very well over time due to lack of cooperation among members/owners etc., Mayor JF Harrison decided on erecting a schoolhouse/library/museum complex which still stands today as one Of Our Most Historic Sites In Town! With its beautiful brick facade dating back To 1875 And A Original Old Type I Gable Roof Which Still Exists Today!, red bank quickly became known as "The Village That Built It" & Started To Develop Some Of The First Community Engagements Here Including: A Board Of Trustees For His High School; A Playground; A Social Club; A Sewerage System; A Water System...all While He Keeps His Eye On All The Activity happening InTown Below & Makes Sure Everything Goes Smoothly!

Red Bank was founded in 1812 by surveyors who charted the area that would become Hardin County.
