Murfreesboro is a town in Blount County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 9,874 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Blount County. Murfreesboro was founded in 1811 by John Fayette Murfee and his family. The first post office in Murfreesboro was established in 1814. In 1865, it became known as "The Birthplace of the Confederate Soldier." Murfreesboro is located at (32.720960, -86.960736). According to the USGS, its elevation is 577 feet (183 m). According to the 2000 census, there were 3,746 people residing in Murfreesboro. Of this number 2,952 were male and 1,916 female; 2% were under age 18 and 0% were over age 65; and 88% white extraction rate contributed to that percentage of population growth during that decade-an increase from 77%. Whites made up 82% of all residents as of 2007 according to the Census Bureau's American Community Survey estimate for that year; Hispanics composed 6%, African Americans 8%, Asians 4%, and other races 10%. As of 2010 majority-minority populations had increased slightly since 2000-to 14% Hispanic and 33% black or African American-. There has been significant growth within minority groups throughout this time: whites have become more evenly balanced with Hispanics/Latinos now making up 28%; blacks are up from 20 percent to 31 percent; Asians make up 7 percent today but 15 percent when studied alone or in combination with whites while Native Americans decreased from 12 percent to 3 percent due largely to federal efforts encouraging assimilation into mainstream society rather than Survivalism among some Native Americans

Murfreesboro is a town in Anderson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 3,541 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Memphis-Mt. Vernon, TN-MS-AR metropolitan area. Murfreesboro has been a center of cotton culture and commerce for over 100 years. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Anderson County were French traders who landed in 1696 and 1701. A group of Englishmen also came to the area in 1706 and began trading with the Cherokee Indians. They named their new settlement "Fern Grove." The first white residents of Fern Grove were James Caldwell and his brother John Caldwell Jr., both from North Carolina. In 1814, Andrew Jackson was elected president as the first major party candidate from Tennessee and he selected Fayetteville as his temporary capital on the Cumberland River near Nashville. Jackson moved permanent capital to Nashville in 1815 because he wanted to consolidate all government operations within one location so that he could better monitor them and be more effective when dealing with opponents seeking to challenge his authority. By 1816, Fayetteville had become too small forJackson's liking and he returned to Nashville. In 1820, Tennessee became a state under the terms of the Missouri Compromise which divided up western Missouri among several states including Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana Purchase Territory (northwest Oklahoma), Mississippi (east Texas), New Mexico Territory (southwest Arizona) and Utah Territory (northwest Nevada). As a result of this arrangement, Murfreesboro would have gone along with Kansas if it had been admitted into the Union as an independent state; however, Kansas declared itself a free state on January 1st 1861 instead. On November 2nd 1861 Confederate Major General Donelson attacked Knoxville while its citizens were celebrating Thanksgiving Day dinner by burning down many buildings downtown; this attack destroyed much important business district including Murfreesboro which lay just across Broadway from Knoxville's military arsenal complex known as Fort Donelson where Confederate forces were stationed for Readiness Training during 1862-1863 after they won their Battle of Chickamauga Creek against Union forces under George McClellan. This led directly to Civil War hostilities between Unionists/Confederates over control of northern Appalachia - later referred to as "the battle proper" or "the real war". Murfreesboro was founded by settlers who arrived in early 1800s looking for land grants east of Knoxville on what is today called Highway 606A north of Riverside Drive northwest off Airport Boulevard across from Chattanooga Mall PAVE Fitness & More located at 601 S Main Street home base store since 1955
