In the early 1800s, Mount Juliet, Tennessee was a thriving community with a population of around 1,500 people. Over time, however, military activity declined and most residents transitioned into civilian life; by 1980 there remained just 100 active duty military personnel living in Mount Juliet (compared to over 20 thousand residents before that). New development began to increase throughout Datone County during the late 1990s and 2000s as these years saw an overall growth rate of 5%. This growth potential was due primarily to new housing developments which sprang up around downtown Mt.
