Mount Juliet is a small town located in Knox County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,651 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Middletown, OH-KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area around Mount Juliet was first settled by Scotsmen and others from Scotland in the late 17th century. By 1800, there were over 50 residences in what is now Mount Juliet. The first school in Mount Juliet opened in 1819. In 1825, Methodist missionaries founded the church here and soon after began teaching children and adults religious education here as well as helping to establish a school system for Knox County residents. After being burned down by Confederate forces during the American Civil War on April 12, 1865, much of Mount Juliet was destroyed but some sections (e.g., the business district) returned to civilian control within 10 months and quickly rebuilt with help from troops and local citizens under the direction of Colonel John Cramer who had been appointed Reconstruction Commissioner for Knox County following the war’s end. In 1920, General Electric built its West Point plant on land that once belonged to Presbyterian minister James Hance which helped spur development of this agricultural community which today has about 100 homes including several thousand square feet of contiguous retail space inside an adjacent shopping mall which also includes a movie theater and restaurants/bars/cafes etc.). During World War II many jobs were created at GE’s West Point plant such as those responsible for metal fabricating products used in airplane construction; these workers contributed greatly to Allied victory through their hard work and production skills during World War II . After hostilities ended America's post-war economic boom stalled while federal government austerity measures crippled industry throughout most of postwar America - crippling industries all while creating widespread unemployment across Appalachia although overall wages did not increase significantly due largely to technological advancements similar to those experienced during WWII ). However like so many other northeastern industrial cities Cincinnati became one of largest metropolitan areas in Ky USA surpassing even Memphis becoming one early during this period followed shortly thereafter by Cincinnati proper joining hands with Dayton amassing an early 20th century streetcar line until both cities effectively outran each other leading eventually Dayton annexing Columbus back into their city limits when that city went bankrupt )
