Mount Juliet, Tennessee is a small town located in the state of Tennessee. The population of Mount Juliet was 3,083 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Memphis metropolitan area. A post office was established at Mount Juliet by act of Congress on October 12, 1814 and remained in operation until 1865. The first postmaster was Daniel Boone . Daniel Boone (1736-1819) served as a delegate to both conventions that created the United States Constitution and played an important role in its development. In 1792 he became one of three commissioners chosen by President George Washington to explore lands east of Appalachia for colonization purposes; his discovery led to his founding of Roane County, Virginia near Alexandria, Virginia thirty years later In 1815 Intercolonial Railroad reached Mt. Juliet and began service transporting goods between Knoxville and Chattanooga via Murfreesboro; this trade helped support local businesses such as Ford Motor Company and other heavy industry organizations during the early 19th century In 1819 John Sevier settled at present day Shelbyville after purchase from David Livingstone following their expedition into central Africa A store opened in Shelbyville known as “The African Queen” before eventually closing due to competition by stores opening up along route to Chattanooga On December 15th 1861 Confederate Captain Nathan Bedford Forrest attacked Union troops under Major Richard Johnson while they were engaged near present day Pulaski County line during operations against Majerus Creek A battle ensued resulting in 5 deaths with Forrest claimed responsibility For these actions he received a promotion within Confederate army He also lost his commission but continued serving until 1865

Mount Juliet, Tennessee is a small town located in McMinn County, Tennessee. The population was 2,053 at the 2000 census. It is home to the Mount Juliet Military Academy and is also known for its farmers market. The community was founded in 1814 by General Robert E. Lee and his family as an outpost on the now-defunct Cumberland Plateau during the Mexican War. In 1827, General Andrew Jackson moved the entire military academy from Harrisonburg, Virginia to Mount Juliet after it was destroyed by fire. After Jackson's death in 1837, his widow attempted to move the academy back to Harrisonburg but failed due to lack of support from local residents. The community experienced a resurgence in popularity beginning in the early 21st century with construction of Interstate 65 and the opening of several businesses such as Walmart and Applebee's within its boundaries. However, recent economic conditions have led to a decrease in activity around town and has relegated it to an almost forgotten location among other smaller towns in McMinn County.
In the summer of 1865, Union General Ulysses S. Grant's army crossed the river on the Tennessee River and attacked Confederate General Robert E. Lee's forces at Petersburg. The battle lasted for three days and resulted in over 500 casualties on both sides. As a result of this battle, the Confederacy lost its last major stronghold on the southern side of the Potomac River.
