This ammo was developed by Winchester Arms Company and remains one of the most popular types of ammunition in the world.
Millington is a small town in Hardin County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,564 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Knoxville-Decatur-Fulton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Millington was founded in 1811 by General James Wilkinson and his family as an agricultural settlement on the banks of the Cumberland River. Millington grew rapidly during its early years, with new buildings being erected every few years. In 1837, the Wilkinson brothers sold their farm to Colonel John Silliman for $4,000. By 1860, milling had become an important industry in Millington and it boasted a large flour-mill and two other mills; one producing cottonseed oil and another making paper products. By 1870, there were also three blacksmiths and six shoemakers in Millington. A post office opened in 1865 and continued operating until it was discontinued in 1903. In 1907, a sawmill was built along the Cumberland River near present day Millington to supply mills with lumber from nearby forests. After several years of operation (the first machine shop being built in 1908), the mill closed due to financial problems in 1923; however, it reopened shortly thereafter under new management as a woodworking plant. The plant closed again after a fire destroyed most of its equipment in 1978; but it reopened as an antique store soon afterward before closing altogether in 1990. The mainstay of Millington's economy until recently has been agriculture: haymaking (19th century),livestock raising (19th century),and potatoes growing since 1840 have all been major sources of income for residents over the last several hundred years or so - although some manufacturing has come up since then too (paint production began around 1920). However, recent trends are pointing towards more diversified economic activity: according to 2010 Census figures, about one-third of village residents work outside their villages for pay jobs either full time or part time; while elsewhere within Hardin County nearly half of all workers are employed outside their homes by professional or technical services such as engineering or law enforcement jobs; almost one-third also engage directly in commerce or services related thereto (such as restaurants). In 1887, the name change to honor Edwin Millington, founder of Memphis. Millington has had two mayors: Hinton Waddell (1924-29) and A.W. Stephenson (1931-35). A branch library opened in 1967 and has been serving the community since then. Reverend Drs. Floyd J. Smith and Harry Ligon were honored with a honorary doctorate from Vanderbilt University in 2003 for their work in developing Millington into an important center for education within Hardin County and beyond The milling industry played an important role in Millington’s early history; Manufacturing began here in 1868 when John Sutherlin erected the first mill on this site which he named “Johnstown Mill” after his father-in-law who had homesteaded there about twenty years earlier In 1898, Milton Dickson joined Sutherlin as owner of Johnstown Mill Dickson’s improvements included enlargement of both mills which produced flour for local markets as well as exporting to Russia In 1913, brothers Alpheus Fenton (1872-1957) and Homer Fenton took over ownership of Johnstown Mill from Milton Dickson Alpheus Fenton ran it until his death in 1957 while Homer continued operations until 1964 . They sold it to David Ligon who operated it until 1984 . It reopened under new management following its sale to METRO Credit Union on April 25th, 2006 . By 2007, almost all aspects of Johnstown Mill had been modernized including a power plant that replaced an antique engine , water system , kitchenettes , restrooms etc Milton Dickson Elementary School stands upon alumni ground where he built himself a home back when he lived near the mill These days you can still see some remnants from his original mill buildings such as one large room which once held up five floors
