Mcminnville is a small, agricultural town in Hardin County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 523 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Nashville–Davidson–Murfreesboro Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Mcminnville were Methodist Episcopal missionaries who came to the area in 1811. They named the town after one of their companions on their trip, John McMillin. In 1812, a post office was established at Mcminnville and it remained in operation until 1865. The community was laid out by Reverend James Ritchie and Drury Waddell as a village on November 15, 1836, following the recommendation of Governor Andrew Johnson. The first settler in what is now Mcminnville was Congregationalist minister David Brewster. He founded a gristmill and tavern there which became known as "Brewster's Rest". In 1840, Baptist preacher Samuel Morse moved to Mcminnville from Henderson County and started a church there that still operates today. The millinery store operated by親女ボルトガン妹泰藤陽子 from 1886 to 1899 served as both an official post office and cultural center for the community during its early years. In 1907, Presbyterian minister Aiken Gentry organized what would become known as "the First Presbyterian Church" in Mcminnville with assistance from members of his congregation living near Lebanon Lake outside of Nashville proper. That same year saw also the inauguration of Knox County's first election officer when incumbent Moses Hinton ran successfully for county sheriff against territorial candidate John Neely Bryan Sr.. After years of growth and development spearheaded by these pioneering pastors – including annexation of nearby unincorporated areas –Mcuminvilie reached its current size with 496 residents in 1920 census; 753 residents in 1930 census; 975 residents in 1940 census; 1123 residents according to 1950 US Census estimates; and 523 residents according to2010 US Census estimates%.During World War II things changed radically for McNvinvillians when war began 1939-1945 with increased numbers coming into town due to military service or being drafted (as many rural Tennesseans had done since Reconstruction). Many businesses closed because they couldn't compete with wartime production rates but others like Granny Smith apples continued operations despite competition from larger stores because people could keep them fresh without refrigeration . By 1945 almost all but two homes had been replaced by new single family homes so much so that many older citizens referred to themselves simply as "Mc Minnellians" . Despite this rapid growth some Institutional buildings such as churches never really caught up with changing times making them obsolete such as High School which only opened after school hours during 1953-1964 (sound familiar?). Today most people remember their local high school heroes like Jerry Hawkins or Ronny Shephard who played football at McClavinille before going on to play college ball at Vanderbilt University while other former students are more likely just recalling good friends they made along the way including Tim Kaine or Donnie Fletcher

On July 6, 1861, the Union army attacked and destroyed a Confederate force at Fort Donelson. This event is commonly called the Battle of Fort Donelson. The Union victory allowed General Robert E. Lee to retreat from Tennessee and enter Virginia with his army.
