Mcminnville is a small town in Knox County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,352 at the 2010 census. It lies along the Cumberland River and is one of the smallest towns in Tennessee. Mcminnville was founded by Scots-Irish settlers in 1825. The first post office in Mcminnville was established in 1828, and the first store opened in 1829. The town was named for General John A. McMinn who fought against Mexico during the Mexican–American War. In 1830, McMinnville had a population of just six people and two stores; but within a few years it had grown to over fifty residents! By 1835, Mcminnville had four churches and twelve businesses; its citizens were becoming known as "the goodly set." In 1850, John Hennigan built a log cabin on what is now Old Hickory Road near present day intersection of State Route 669 and US 11/13 (now I-15). Hennigan became the first settler in what would become Mcminnville when he moved from Ratliff Township to his new home on November 4th of that year. Hennigan's cabin still stands today and can be seen from many miles away! The early days ofMcMINNVILLE were not without controversy: some claim that there wasn't even an initial settlement because no one wanted to move there because of lack of water or other natural resources; however others insist that McMINNVILLE was always destined to be a small town due to its location along the Cumberland River which made it easy for traders to come into town from all over America! The following years saw more growth as families purchased land parcels east of Old Hickory Road for farming purposes – this area would eventually become known as "the rolling hills". This same period also saw construction take place on what would later become Main Street – this street has since been renamed after local resident James Waddell who donated $2,000 towards its construction! In 1861 McKinnon organized a local militia group called the Rangers which served alongside Confederate troops during the American Civil War – this action helped solidify his reputation as an active citizenry member throughout much of that conflict! In 1865 McKinnon sold his farmstead - consisting only of his house - to make way for what would be future Orchard Heights development! Despite being rapidly losing population due largely to emigration (and accompanying economic devastation) by 1840sMcMINNVILLE continued expanding with new homes being constructed on land located between Browning Road & Elk Creekawn Drive; these properties are now part Of Orchard Heights Developmentmble . As late as 1910 there remained only 231 residents living within McCMINNVILLE limits while 2 churches functioned within its boundaries; however today with additions such as Bluebird Elementary School & Presbyterian Church & Methodist Chapel both opening up shop nearby in recent decades McGINNVILLE has slowly but surely regained much lost ground back onto its feet - with current populations reaching 1,350 residents once again (!), it's clear that times have never been better for this busy little community situated just outside Knox County line !

Mcminnville is a small town in Liberty County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,582 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Nashville metropolitan area. The community was founded by General James Wilkinson on July 6, 1811 as a post office called "Wilkinson's Ferry." In 1822, it became known as Mcminnville after Colonel John McMinn who had been an early settler in the area and donated land for the town. The name change came about because of confusion with another community named Williamson which was located to the east and also included parts of what is now Liberty County. In 1859, McMinnville became an actinide station on the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad and served as a stop for passengers travelling between these two cities. After this time, Mcminnville declined in importance and most of its residents moved away or left when Commerce Air Station opened nearby in 1957. However, some people from Mcminnville continue to live there today including some who work at Commerce Airport. When McMinnville first started to develop as a town it was mostly farmland with few homes built until around 1870 when Mechanic Shop Road began to be built which connected many of the businesses in the town. This road led directly to what is now downtown McDivert Avenue where many of the original stores and restaurants still stand today such as Tootsie's restaurant and Moe's Tavern. The development of downtown McDivert Avenue helped give rise to one of Mcminnville's main attractions - its antique district which contains many rare items from throughout history including furniture set from Illinoisan pioneer James Robertson and Confederate General Robert Ewell’s horse barn that once stood at Union Square near downtown Memphis). Minnie Mae's restaurant opened up in 1949 on Lafayette Boulevard across from retail property that currently houses US Bank Tower (now One Federal Plaza) according to web site HistoricTennessee .
In 1824, the first white person to settle in Mcminnville was James McNaught. He and his family built a small cabin on the edge of what is now known as McNaught Park. The McNaught family continued to live in their farmstead until 1827. In 1830, John Soddy settled in Mcminnville and began trading goods with the Indians. In 1832, he organized a Methodist church in Mcminnville and named it after himself, John Soddy Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1840, J.W. McGee settled in Mcminnville and started making whiskey from corn mash that he had been growing on his farm. By 1860, there were over 100 people living in Mcminnville. By 1870, there were over 150 people living in Mcminnville when the first railroad arrived through town. The first post office was established inMcMINNVILLE on July 16th, 1870. The townspeople built a schoolhouse which they called "The White House". They also started a store which became known as "The Post Office Store". The first cotton gin was erected inMcMINNVILLE by Aiken & Company around 1881-82 using water power from the creek near present day McClain Road/I-65 exit 167A (Saddleback Rd). This gin produced about 30 bales of raw cotton per day at its peak during the early years of this industry!
