Mcminnville is a small town in Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,061 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Knoxville metropolitan area. The town was founded by Scots-Irish immigrants in 1846 and named for John McQueen, a local farmer. It began as a dry goods store and mercantile center on the edge of an agricultural area that became Southern Railway territory in 1881. In 1902, the first high school opened in McQueen's millinery store and soon developed into one of the leading schools in the region. A new brick courthouse was built in 1903 and renamed for James Minton after him as judge on the bench from 1912 to 1921; he had been assistant district attorney for Williamson County until 1896 when he became circuit judge of Middle Tennessee. In 1940, during World War II, McQueen donated land to build what would become home to Valley Forge Air Force Base whichserved America's nuclear weapons program until it closed in 1992. After that time much of the economy centered around agriculture with some manufacturing still taking place but most residents now rely on services provided by Valley Forge AFB or other nearby businesses such as Tyson Foods Inc., Harrison Ford Automobiles, Allstate Insurance Company and First Tennessee Bankruptcy Services Corporation among others A new elementary school was built west of town (and later annexed into Mcqueen High School), while a fanciful new high school south of town was completed following construction of Interstate 40 between 2000 and 2002 In 2006 Valley Forge AFB closed its doors after more than 35 years providing jobs throughout central Knoxville; however many workers were laid off before then because their contracts were not renewed . The closure has led to increased crime rates within Mcminnville due to an increase number of illegal aliens living there without permits who are available for employment opportunities open to native citizens

At that time, Cumberland County was part of Tennessee and didn’t have its own government. The McKinnels ran the county until1812 when they moved to their current location on Indian Creek (now known as Old Hickory Boulevard). After moving to their present-day location, the McKinnels started trading cattle with Indians and selling goods from their home near Knoxville. Over time, the McKinnels developed into one of Tennessee’s leading landowners and businessmen. They also played an important role in helping build Nashville’s infrastructure including developing lands aroundSpring Hill Cemetery and constructing parts of what is now downtown Nashville. During World War I, many citizens ofMcMinnville enlisted in various military units such asthe 108th Infantry Regiment (Tennessee) which fought at Gettysburg Heights.. In 1948, McMillinville merged with neighboring SpringHill Village to form what is now called “Nashvillenovelty Abolitionist Community(NAACP)” which functioned as a black ghetto until 1970 when it reverted back to its original name “McMinnville”

In 1837, the first store was built in the town. By 1840, there were six stores and two post offices in Mcminnville. The first school was opened in 1844. The population of Mcminnville grew to over 100 people by 1850. In 1860, a railroad station was built and the town became a railroad stop. By 1870, there were twelve businesses in Mcminnville and the population had increased to 300 people. A Presbyterian church was built in 1889 and served the community for many years. In 1916, industrial pollution caused an airpoisoning accident that killed twenty-one people and injured over seventy-five others in Mcminnville.
