The Arsenal produced rifles and shotguns for the military and law enforcement. handguns were also produced there. In 1907, the company was sold to George Ball. When Ball died in 1915, his son Harry took over ownership of the company and continued producing firearms and other products at the Arsenal until World War II. During that time, Maryville became known as a center for gun production in Tennessee. From 1941 to 1945, the Arsenal produced weapons for Japan during World War II. In 1948, Harry Ball's son John took over ownership of the company again and continued manufacturing firearms until he passed away in 1990.
