Martin, Tennessee is a small town located in the state of Tennessee. The population was 2,503 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Memphis–area metropolitan area. The name comes from the Cherokee word "martin" which means “place where there are trees.” The first settler in Martin was James Watt who arrived in 1786. He built a cabin on an island in the river that flows through town. In 1804, John Crouch settled here and started to grow corn and potatoes for his family. By 1830, he had made enough money to buy land and started to build a log cabin named after himself, Crouch Town Hall. In 1871, Jno Pulsipher bought some land near Martin and founded Pulsipher County seat with this site as its location. In 1889, David Dixon moved here from Chattanooga to start Yates Glass Works which became one of the leading glass companies in America during the 19th century. Martin has experienced rapid growth over time due to its natural resources such as coal and timber being found hereabouts (especially since World War II). Many businesses have been established throughout its history including: oil refineries (including Gulf Oil), banks (JPMorgan Chase & Co., First Tennessee Bank), hospitals (Memphis General Medical Center), restaurants (Cafeteria Corporation of America), theaters (the Ford Theatre Company) and Doctor Phillips Hospitality Trust Companies Incorporated which operates various hotels throughout downtown Memphis/Martin County combined with other assets including agricultural acreage used for production purposes only; comprising 519 acres(221 hectares). Despite these recent successes, many challenges remain for Martin - including unemployment rates above 10%. These challenges make it an attractive place to live but also make it difficult for businesses to succeed long-term due to lack of stability or competition from larger cities or counties nearby while still providing good schools and infrastructure opportunities within walking distance

Millett and it was first mass-produced in 1973. In 1974, the first rifle using an adjustable gas block was produced by Colt Firearms. From 1976 to 1998, the AR15 platform saw numerous revisions that allowed for increased accuracy and stability. In 1998, the US Congress passed a law that standardized all firearms in America and this led to the release of the AR15 Upper Receiver Committee's report which changed many aspects of how rifles were manufactured. The most significant changes from this report included increasing barrel life from 5 to 10 shots, providing more robust bolt carrier group (BCG) performance, and improving overall function with reduced kickback.

Martin was founded in 1784 by John Martin and his wife, Susannah. The town center was established around a Presbyterian church, and the first post office was opened in 1814. The town has been continuously inhabited since its inception, with noAHouse being built over 100 years ago. In 1917, the town celebrated its centennial with an event that included a parade and dinner at the old schoolhouse. In 1951, the town approved annexation by Nashville. Martin has had several growth spurts over the years; in 1925 it became the terminus of the Knoxville-Martin Railroad, which served as a catalyst for population growth; in 1957 it became home to Tennessee's first high school football team; and most recently, it has become an important hub for medical services within Nashville.
Martin was founded in 1819 by James Martin and his wife, Sally. The town was named for General Andrew Jackson, who had been president when it was founded. It grew rapidly after the discovery of oil in nearby Henderson County in 1859. By 1870, Martin had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1892, the town became a county seat and remained so until 1907.
