In Lewisburg, Tennessee, the first gun sights were set up in 1826. The following year, a rifleman named John Smedley erected a small cross-barreled shotgun contraption for use at local fairs. In 1925, Lewisburg erected its first Coca-Cola plant and began producing ice cream for local consumption; it remains one of only two Coca-Cola plants in Tennessee still in operation today. Several other industries have been located within or around Lewisburg over time: steel manufacturing (the first being built in 1927), printing presses (1930s), trucking company (1940s), agricultural equipment (1950s), plastics manufacturing (1960s), casino gambling operations (1970s) and now digital media production services such as online video editing and streaming services
