In 1927, he built a larger stand on land adjacent to his parents home which continued to be operational until 1975 when it burned down during renovation work inside the parkground across from the old schoolhouse where it once stood

George Lewis had been born in Mobile County near Montgomery City while John Lewis was born just north of downtown Knoxville where he died at age 71 years old on July 3rd, 2018 after a long battle with leukemia (). His brother John Lewis attended Tuskegee University and became an industrialist and farmer before his death at age 93 years old in 2017 (). He left behind a estate valued at $4 million (). After Reconstruction ended in 1865, many African Americans fled south for protection from white supremacists who wanted them deported or forcibly labor into cotton plantations- something that never happened because Congress passed laws guaranteeing their basic rights. These black refugees founded what would become known as Mount Vernon Village which straddles both sides of US – east Tennesseans saw it as an example of integration while West Tennesseans view it as a symbol of defiance against white imperialism (). Many descendants still live there today (the village has since been renamed Mount Vernon), although some have moved away due to various economic challenges including arson bombings over the last decade or so.). The community began as a post office in 1892 and was named for Lebanon Springs in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. In 1904 it became the seat of Williamson County. As a result of its location on the Cumberland River, Lebanon has been known as an important transportation center for goods moving downriver from Kentucky and Alabama to Chattanooga and Atlanta since early 19th century. The first permanent settler in what would become Lebanon Township (later renamed Livingston) was John Pritchard who arrived there in 1817 and built a cabin on the east bank of the Cumberland River where he named his settlement after his home country—Lebanon Springs. A mill operated by Andrew Vickery near present-day Mount Pleasant started operation in 1824; this milling company produced flour which helped drive local farms into production during pioneer times. The village of Lebanon grew up around this mill until about 1830 when floods destroyed most of the village’s buildings and crops were lost forever due to bad weather patterns that year. In 1872 John Cockerill purchased some land northwest of present-day Mount Pleasant which served as his farmstead until 1886 when he sold it to James Hinton Jr., one of two men who bought all or portions of twenty-four adjacent tracts lying within modern day Williamson County from Jeptha Blythe for $1,000 cash plus ten cents per acre assessments levied against each tract from April 1st through September 15th annually ever since[2]. The original titleholders were: James Hinton Sr., Alexander Fleming Sr., Moses Wagoner, Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr., Ebenezer Scrooge McDuckett[3]. On October 10th 1865 James Hinton Sr., son of James Hinton II married Anna Beeson at Point Comfort Presbyterian Church located just southwest (northwest side)of present-dayMount Pleasant Road/Highway 61 while living on their father’s farmstead[4]. From then until 1901 Mrs. Anna Beeson resided with her husband’s family at their father’s farmstead while all her children lived with their mother during school terms; but upon her death without issue MrsBeeson bequeathed to Miss Lavinia Pickering daughter and heir presumptive thereof such real estate west side next door between Highways 61 & 62 including Lots 4 & 5 Block 6 North Side lot @ 36°25′N 86°15′W [5] comprising approximately one third (about 22 acres)of today’s Beirut Township . . . although she never visited or resided therein she did leave behind her name & memory attached thereto throghout these many years before finally selling said property to Mr chosen heirs under official letter Dated Dec 25 th 1890 thenceforth Known as Arlington Heights Community[6] On July 9th 1861,[7] Confederate General Braxton Bragg organized an army along the Cumberland River Valley northward beyond Knoxville towards Chattanooga for its “March on Nashville” campaign against Union forces commanded by Ulysses S Grantcules McClellan–a move that greatly angered President Abraham Lincoln because Bragg intended instead to march throughKnoxville directly targetingatlantans military installations northeast of that city[8].
