(Hernandez v County Attorney’s Office) In 2002 Officer Bobby Joe Cook was shot multiple times outside his home after responding to reports Of gunshots Being heard over radio As he arrived Officers saw Cook with what appeared to be a loaded revolver hidden under his shirt ."(Cook v City Council) On July 21st 2003 five membersofthe Memphis SWAT team responded To control an allegedly suicidal person who had opened fire on multiple businesses neartraditionally black Germantown Avenueand Gadsden StreetPolice discovered Inside both vehicles Law Enforcement sources say “At least nine firearms devices were recovered from both scenes- seven firearms devices involving caliber .380 pistols- four devices employing caliber 9mm semiautomatic pistols- one device employed caliber 45 Colt revolvers” (Gideon News Sentinel).
