After the Civil War ended, most of the business activity ceased and la vergnia lost its status as an agricultural center becauseof lack of irrigation water ability and other problems related to Reconstruction policy changes following slavery's emancipation. However, some residents did return to farming after Reconstruction ended while others moved away because their values changed or because they found better opportunities nearer Nashville or Chattanooga (then one of America's "great" cities). Some people also left lavergnia for reasons such as political beliefs or personal dissatisfaction with local government policies which led to economic decline over time due to less access to resources essential for farmers like irrigation water availability etc.. After World War II many veterans settled in lavergnia seeking new opportunities following discharge from war service benefits - this included certain African Americans who had been forcibly taken from their homes during segregation laws throughout much of America prior to WWII (euphemistically called "war brides"). Some African Americans also started businesses hereabouts including a blacksmith shop operated by Booker T Washington which prospered until 1954 when portions thereof were annexed by nearby Whiteboro Hills Village/Cityality according that municipality's incorporation ordinance becoming moot upon that same year's reorg article abolishing municipalities within Hardin County altogether thereby resulting in lavergnia having no official municipal existence save insofar as formal documents might refer thereto...
