The Kingsport Shooting Range located in Kingsport, Tennessee has been in operation since 1924. The range is home to the world’s second longest rifle range and the thirdlongest shotgun range. It also offers a number of other shooting activities such as pistols, shotguns, and rifles through its three ranges. Kingsport was once known for its production of firearms which were used for hunting, law enforcement, and target shooting. One of the first shooters in Kingsport was John Tubb who opened his store on Commerce Street in 1875. Tubb later became an early manufacturer of rifle barrels and shotguns in town. In 1924, the original owners of the range sold it to J. C. Browning who continued to operate it until he died in 1951. After Browning’s death, it passed through several hands before being purchased by Bud Smith who operated it until 1978 when it was donated to the city of Kingsport by Averill Harriman Jr.. Today, theKingsport Shooting Range features a variety of shooting activities including handguns (with or without sights), rifles (including single shot barrel guns), shotguns (both pump action and double barreled shotguns), pistols (handguns only), muzzleloader deer hunting games, boat ramp rentals with skeet and trap ranges available as well as airsoft play areas for those ages 10 and younger!

After the war ended in 1945, many small businesses closed but new ones sprang up thanks to increased tourism which helped keep downtown alive until around 2000 when it all started to decline again due to lack of development opportunities along with other economic factors Today there are only 2 primary business entities left active Downtown - The Barnes Art Gallery & Store which functions primarily as an art shop/gallery/gallery showroom; And The Veterans Memorial Building which serves mainly as a place where locals can gather together for civic events or just chat about their day
