Kingsport was a town in Tennessee, United States, that was founded by the Cherokee nation in 1809. The town was abandoned in the 1830s and 1840s due to its proximity to the Indian Territory, and it has not been rebuilt since then. The town is now a ghost town with only a few buildings remaining. The first settler in Kingsport was James Robertson, who arrived in 1809. He built a cabin on the banks of the Cumberland River. In 1811, Robertson married Rachel Atkins and they started a farm near present-day Kingsport. The couple had three children: James (1812-1892), John (1814-1894), and Rachel (born 1798). In 1830, Robert Ewing came to Kingsport from Glasgow, Scotland with his family. He owned several thousand acres of land around Kingsport and began farming it. Ewing became one of the most influential men in Kingstown during this time period because he helped build many of the city's structures such as churches and homes. In 1835, Daniel Boone moved to Kingsport from Lebanon County, Kentucky after finding success fur trading in Minnesota. Boone wanted to start a new life away from all the excitement of Kentucky society and politics. He erected his home at what is now called Main Street on his property today. After some time living there, he decided thatKingsPORT would be better than Lebanon for him because it had no Native American residents living thereabouts as well as being closer to trade routes between Canada and Mexico City – which meant more money could be made! He also saw potential for business development here; businesses like mine were starting up all over Kentucky at this time so Boone suggested building an courthouse/judicial center here instead of waiting for another county seat like Lexington or Louisville – two places that were already quite populous thanks to their economic opportunities stemming from their large river systems! The construction began soon after but due to funding problems caused by non-payment on loans secured by land sales within Indian Territory (!), construction stopped altogether around 1840 when Fort Pillow was completed nearby! However, much later historians discovered documents proving that Boone actually did start construction on what is now known as Pillow Court despite continuous claims otherwise; these documents date back to 1865 when Major General George Armstrong Custer visitedKingsPORT while stationed at Fort Pillow! This episode demonstrates just how extremely important Kingston was during those days... both politically speaking & commercially! It’s safe to say that without Kingstown & its thriving commerce & industry no one would have made it through [theIndian Territory] any different than they did!!

In 1860, John Coker started brewing beer at his Brewery on Sumner Street near downtown Kingsport; this became one of the largest breweries in America. The King Coal Company opened its mine under present-day Main Street just south of downtown Kingsport in 1911; this became one of the largest coal mines west of Tennesse
