In 1825, Major James Bledsoe erected a two-story red oak wooden target for use by members of his artillery regiment stationed at Fort Donelson. In 1873, A&P grocery store owner Nathan Sayers erected one of the first permanent gun targets outside of Jackson when he leased it from local gunners for $1 per month. This structure remained active until 1947 when it was replaced by a new building designed specifically for this purpose that is still extant today within Mayor Owen’s Park in downtownJackson . A number of other businesses joined Nathan Sayers in hosting regular Gun Targets over the years; such venues included Mrs Haggerty’s Bakery (1875), The Blacksmith Shop (1877), Foy & Co.(1879), Ladd Bros.(1881), JH Jenkins & Sons(1910), WAGCO(1924). Over time some Of these locations evolved into permanent facilities while others changed hands multiple times before finally being demolished over time and becoming fill sites again; such examples include Mrs Haggerty’s Bakery (1988) now operated by Hope Coffee Company Inc., The Blacksmith Shop (1996) located inside Mayor Owen’s Park now operated by Gateway Archaeology LLC., Foy & Co.(2002) now operates out of Customer Service Department across from Walmart Supercenter., Ladd Bros.(2006) now operates out of Hunt Brothers BBQ Place across from Sprouts Farmers Market.) A few notable exceptions include WAGCO(1993) which reverted back to its original structure shortly after reopening but failed to maintain its former popularity so it was eventually torn down due to lack of attendance then reopened under new ownership as Weiser's Sporting Goodscoffee shop.;JH Jenkins & Sons(2005) relocated inside Mayor Owen's Park adjacent to Sprouts Farmers Market.;and Hunt Brothers BBQ Place(2007-) has been operating continuously since 1986 without interruption

Jackson, Tennessee is a town in Shelby County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 10,391 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Nashville metropolitan area. Jackson is named after James K. Polk, 32nd president of the United States. The community was first settled in 1819 and became a small post office on December 1, 1820. It had a total population of five people when it was platted as Jackson Township by order of the General Assembly on February 17, 1821. Jackson township expanded to include present day Shelby County on November 3rd, 1825 when John Witherspoon organized what would become Shelbyville Township which included much of present day Jackson Township including its eastern border with Decatur County to form what would become known as the Nashville region: The initial platting process forJackson may have been influenced by recent events in neighboringDecatur County where two men-George Rogers Clark and Andrew Johnson-were killed within days of each other during the War for Independence while still living in their homes (the latter event being documented by future U.S. President James K Polk). In response to this bloodshed and resultant political instability in the area, representatives from both jurisdictions met on February 17th to consider creating an agency that would manage land grants between them and resolve any jurisdictional disputes or boundary issues that may have arisen from their overlapping territory additions/subtractions; this proposal was accepted and created as Jackson Township according to existing law (see map below). James K Polk’s presidency saw great turmoil throughout America due largely to his aggressive foreign policy decisions which were seen as detrimental to our country’s image abroad; however one aspect of his presidency that has been noted negatively was his feud with many members of Congress including some who resided within his home state – specifically Congressman Andrew Johnson who represented what is now parts of Memphis & Chattanooga: In 1865 Union General Robert E Lee waged an unsuccessful battle against Confederate forces near nearby Tupelo Hills resulting in more than 50 dead; following this encounter Governor Donelson ordered all white men over eighteen years old residing within fifteen miles secessionist Cherokee Nation resident John Rankin into military service under Union Commander Braxton Bragg; Rankin refused since he did not believe he could serve without receiving compensation (a situation later referred to as “Indian Removal”): Allied forces then Occupied Corinth Castle effective January 11th 1865 after Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest surrendered there three days prior: Many people associated with downtown Jackson today started out working outside the city limits starting out at local farms or businesses before moving up through local government jobs such as sheriff or city planner etc.: Jackson experienced significant growth during World War II due largely to its proximity to federal airspace Overhead facilities such as Signal Corps headquarters located just north east of town made available for use by locals; construction workers built numerous factories and military installations throughout town including Grumman Aircraft Factory #1 which produced F4F Corsair fighter planes (#2 destroyed during Hurricane Betsy), American Telephone Company's main switchboard building (#3 used as a bombing range), Music Hall Post Office #7(now known locally simply as "The Ballad House"), Ford Motor Company plant #5(which manufactured P-38 Lightning fighters) among others:

Polk, who served as 40th President of the United States from 1845 to 1849 and helped create the Reconstruction Era in America. The first European settler in what is now Jackson County was Nicholas Neill in 1797. He founded a small cabin on an overlook near present-day Gatlinburg on Cumberland River. The first post office was established in 1800, but no town developed until 1814 when settlers petitioned for a charter to be formed from parts of Knox County. On January 1, 1815, the charter was granted and Jackson became known as the "First Town". In 1830, citizens voted to incorporate as a city under new state law which allowed such municipalities within limits of other cities with similar populations. Jackson's growth continued during antebellum times with three waves of immigration: Irish (1830s-40s), Germans (1850s-60s), and Italian Americans (1910-20s). The influx led to increased education and business opportunities for those immigrants and also helped Jackson become one of America's most diverse towns by 1930. Manufacturing had declined by this time but new businesses started up such as clothing stores, furniture stores, plumbing services and trucking companies along with new housing developments around downtown Jacksonville including Greater Jacksonville park which dates back to 1924. In recent years many development projects have taken place including: an electric car charging station on State Route 6 just outside downtown; an arena/concert hall project that began construction in 2017; a $100 million dollar water filtration plant adjacent to Interstate 65; faith based programs that include food pantries or soup kitchens; medical clinics; among others
