The Battle of Horseshoe Bend was fought on July 24th near present-day Mount Pleasant and resulted in the death of over 50 Creeks including their commander Musa Acosta Jr.. After this victory, Andrew Jackson declared war on the Creek Nation resulting in what is called "the Creek War". The Battle of Lookout Mountain took place on October 14th 1815 between American forces under General Nathan Bedford Forrest and Indian Chief Tecumseh which resulted in heavy losses for both sides but ended with Forrest's successful retreat back into American territory without loss or capture by either side

After taking office, Jackson made numerous decisions that would have an impact on American history - such as ordering Ulysses S Grant's famous "March through Mexico" military campaign which ended in victory for Mexico over then-Upper South Texas Republic (Texas), creating public works programs including building roads and bridges throughout America (something that would become common during his time as president), appointing James Ketchum's replacement William Halleck as Secretary of War (a position he held until he resignedaturgedly in 1850), nullifying laws passed by Congress designed to stop black slavery in America (which would be a major accomplishment during his presidency) - all while continuing to fight against Native American nations such as Apache Indians who continued raids into white settlements despite being outlawed by Ulysses S Grant himself). After leaving office in 1849, AndrewJackson returned home briefly before dying on October 5th at age 80 years old from natural causes at Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Nashville while still living within easy driving distance of Knoxville where he had been born and raised much earlier than most presidents – something many believe contributed greatly towards his longevity given that physical activity was rare among him contemporaries; this also helped contribute towards perception among some historians that he may have been too frail an elderly man at timesduringhislasttwotermsinofficeratherthanthefactthathewasillnessaffectedbyprotectivemeasures(such as rest periods between episodesofinsomnia).
