In 1875–76, local farmers organized an agricultural fair which soon became an annual event attended by thousands of people from all over central Tennessee interested in purchasing Agricultural products from local farmers at low prices thanks to efforts by Major General James Biddle Hill (1825–1912) who later served as Governor of Tennessee (1897-1901). The fair increased in popularity so much that it required clarification from state officials whether or not it could be held within limits set by law due to concerns about public disorder caused by large crowdsourcing goods without proper arrangements for food storage or distribution; however eventually it remained an annual event without any issue until 1889 when state lawmakers determined that agricultural fairs should only take place within city limits due to concerns about potential clashes between locals and visitors/Residents of other towns adjacent to rural areas which had started experiencing similar problems since late 1800s with few if any solutions put into place until then! From 1889 – 1912 there were no agricultural fairs taking place within city limits as planned due to this change but instead being held outdoors on village green adjacent Farmer Brown’s farmstead located near present day Interstate 64 exit 84B!
