Goodlettsville is a town in Davidson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 3,542 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Nashville metropolitan area. Goodlettsville was founded in 1892 by James Goodlett and his brother-in-law W. H. Blackwell as a small farming community on the east side of the Cumberland River within what is now Greeneville Township. In 1903, Goodlett's son John Goodlett Jr., took over management of the settlement and it grew rapidly into an incorporated town with a population of 10,000 by 1907. The first rifle stock company in Goodlettsville was organized on May 6, 1892 by James A. Goodlett II and his brother-in-law W H Blackwell as "The Rifle Company". The company built rifles for use with the militia during the American Civil War from 1892 to 1865 (the company disbanded in 1865). Goodlette's rifle factory produced more than 100 different types of rifles over its many years of production; these include both muzzleloaders (such as Sharps rifles) and breechloading rifles such as Winchester Repeating Arms Company Model 1866 Young Rifles used throughout World Wars I and II; Browning Automatic Rifle models BAE 03/22 (.30 caliber), BAE 06/25 (.50 caliber), FN FAL assault rifles chambered in 7x57mm Mauser or 9x19mm Parabellum rounds; Barrett M1 Carbine models M1911A1(9mm Parabellum), M1911A2(7x57mm Luger); Colt 45 automatic pistols manufactured under license by Remington Arms Company; Beretta 92FS pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum; Ruger Mini 14 revolver model 870 Chiappa Pistol grip Springfield Armory pistols chambered for .45ACP only; Sig Sauer P220 submachine gun type handgun chambered in 9x23mm Luger chambering for .22LR Rimfire ammunition which became popular among outlaws beginning around World War II until replaced by later designs such as Glock 19 pistol chambered for .40 S&W ammunition effective January 1st 2020 following national Gun Control Act passage that banned magazines larger than 15 rounds per magazine

Goodlettsville's rifle stocks history goes back to the early 1800s when the area was part of the Cherokee Nation. The first rifles were made in Goodlettsville by local farmers and militia members. By 1827, Goodlettsville had become an important center for rifle manufacture due to its location within a few miles of many major military installations. In 1868, Goodlettsville became the home of Confederate General John Bell Hood and his staff. After Hood's surrender, Goodlettstown became a key stronghold in Union territory and was one of the few places in Tennessee where firearms were still being produced with some consistency until after the Civil War ended. After the war, Goodlettstown experienced a period of rapid growth as a manufacturing center for rifles and shotguns. In 1924,Goodlettstown became one of only two cities in Tennessee with its own gunsmithing school. Today, Goodlettsville is home to several large manufacturers of firearms including Brownells & Co., Inc., which manufactures handguns and revolvers; Sig Sauer AG (USA) - who manufactures hunting rifles such as pistols and shotguns; Colt Firearms USA - which makes revolvers, pistols, airguns, ammunition containers and other sporting products; Beretta USA - which produces handguns such as sub-machine guns and assault rifles; Parker Hannifin Corp.'s Pardue Gunsmithing Company - which specializes in forging receivers for muzzleloaders; Smith & Wesson Corporation - who manufactures revolvers for both personal protection (such as security guards) and law enforcement purposes; Savage ArmsUSA - who makes long guns including carbines, shotguns and pump-action Winchesters

Goodlettsville is a small town in Blount County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,839 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Knoxville metropolitan area. Goodlettsville was founded in 1831 and named for General George Goodlett, who fought with General Nathan Bedford Forrest during the Civil War. The community was originally located on the grounds of what is now the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. In 1860, Goodlett's Creek ran through Goodlett's Valley and passed through present-day Goodlettsville; this stream still flows through the town today. In 1881, General James Boggs donated land to build a school in Goodlettsville after he heard about an existing school in nearby Lenoir City that did not meet his expectations. The first property purchase by trustees came in 1882 when they voted to buy 131 acres (50 ha) southeast of present-day downtown for $1,000 cash and 10 acres (4 ha) of corn ground for $2 per acre ($/ha). A new school building was completed in 1886 and known as "The Old School". After years of growth within good local farmers' markets around central Knoxville which developed along First Avenue north from Third Street eastward intogoodletsvillegoodletstown (later renamedNashVILLE),a second blocklong street running northeast fromFirst Ave.,became desired by developers because it would provide more than one blocklong between stores without crossing busy First Ave.; however this never happened because development took precedence over public transportation needs among other things like improving access to jobs within blocks away instead developing additional streets perpendicular to First Ave.. In 1901 expansionist Main Street became desirable due to its long straightaway fromFirst Ave., becoming dubbed "Main Street North" or simply "Mornin'" because most people knew where it led before daylight started breaking out until late at night so residents could get work done without getting disturbed by neighbors outside their homes...the original name for Main Street East which runs parallel to Mornin' since then has been variously called Southside Boulevard or Crosstown Boulevard... Goodlettsville experienced its worst fire ever on October 3rd 1911 when a group of men working near Fenton High School set fire to some papers they had found while burning trash cans nearby while trying to start a bonfire next door causing extensive damage including Toombs Chapel Baptist Church which lost all its windows and many pews were destroyed but also some important documents inside such as tax returns dating back to 1800 were left untouched despite being gutted completely;[1] although no one was ever prosecuted as no charges could be brought against anyone due mainly because there wasn't anything incriminating associated with these individuals(except maybe possible insurance fraud)[2]the event remains commonly remembered as one of history's biggest disasters primarily due both to how destructive it was and also how easily it could have been prevented if only better diligence had been exercised by those responsible especially given that main thoroughfare Just North Ofwhere Mornin' leads intersects today is still closed off forming what usedtobe called McEwen Road particularly noting that entire block between Second St & Third St now houses several large chain stores including Sears Roebuck[3][4] such as JCPenney[5][6][7]and Macy's[8], all having built up around what once was an open space full of natural resources owned by local farmers which are slowly being overturned again thanks mostly to suburban sprawl rather than any sustainable agricultural policies pursued over recent decades elsewhere in Blount County;; Although much has changed since then including rapid growth rates within adjacent counties aforementioned chiefly Memphis [9],muchofgoodoldvillegecontinuestobe relativelyisolatedfromelsewhereandhasnotreceivedtheinvestment、accessibilityandamenitiesnowprovided

Goodlettsville is a small town in Cooke County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. Goodlettsville is part of the Memphis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The exact date of first settlement in what is now Goodlettsville is unknown but it likely occurred during the early years of the 19th century when traders and travelers passed through this area on their way to or from Memphis. Goodlettsville was named after General James Goodlett who fought in the American Revolution and also served as a delegate to the Continental Congress. In 1824, John Fenton built a cabin on land he bought near present-day Goodlettsville Lake. A post office called Goodlettstown was established at this location in 1827 and remained in operation until 1865 when it was moved to Shelbyville. The first store opened in 1831 and by 1835, there were twelve stores operating within good length of each other in what would become known as "the Commercial District." In 1840, Jesse Coker began farming here and soon became one of the leading farmers in Cooke County with his large acreage holdings that included parts of present-day Goodlettsville village as well as nearby rural areas such as Stonehill and Indian Hills. In 1850, Coker sold his farmstead for $1,500 to Daniel Boone who employed local blacksmiths to build him a log cabin which he called "The Boonesborough Cabin". After several years living quarters were completed, Boone took up permanent residence there with his family during winter months while they operated their farm operations out of their home elsewhere. In 1860, Daniel Boone died at age 43 having spent most of his life traveling throughout southeastern Tennessee including visits to Goodlettesville where he erected a sign reading "Daniel Boone's Home Place" on an old Confederate artillery piece located just east of town limits today (this property has been owned by various descendants since). In 1870–71 two new schools were built within good distance of each other – One for white students and one for black students – both underwritten by philanthropist Amos Kendall Jr.. This period marked significant growth for what would become known as "Goodlettstown Township", although some residents continued to operate businesses outside its boundaries until after World War II when more centralized government control over economic development led to declines in business activity overall and falling township taxes which caused many families much distress over recent decades. However, according to current estimates based on residential mapping conducted by Mike Seibert; there may still be resident households unincorporated into goodletsVILLE Village that reside close enoughto enjoy all that its unique character has To Offer; both physically & economically!

Goodlettsville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pike County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,914 at the 2010 census. Goodlettsville was founded in 1865 by John Goodloe and others as a small farming community near the present day town of Murfreesboro. In the early days, many of Goodloe's men worked for their families on farms north of Murfreesboro. By 1870, Goodloe had built a large frame home and started to sell agricultural products from his farm to customers in Nashville and other towns along the Cumberland River. A post office called Goodletttsville was established in 1875, and became an important commercial center for the area. Many farmers developed new crops or raised livestock in Goodlette's home field; some produced tobacco, cottonseed oil, honey, eggs or chickens. From the mid-19th century until World War II when production shifted from agriculture to munitions manufacturing plants throughout the Southeast due to increased war demand,Goodletttville was one of several villages within miles of Knoxville that supported heavy industry during this period. In 1941, after much discussion among local officials about moving government services nearer residents so as not to double as military basesduring World War II,[2]the entire village—excepting Knoxvillencity—was moved into newly created Murfreesboro Township.[3]
