Goodlettsville is a small town in Hardeman County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 2,691 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Nashville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1876 by farmers and their families who left Shelbyville to settle in the new county. In 1910, Goodlettsville became an incorporated municipality. The first goodlettsville Kits were made by J.B. Goodlett & Sons Company of Jefferson City, Missouri in 1938-39 using two-cylinder engines from GMC trucks and Chevrolet cars with a three-speed automatic transmission and a "T" bracket for mounting on the frame of a car or truck for extra power when needed. In 1951, Goodlett's son Melvin bought out his father's share in the company and began making kits himself under the name Melvin Goodlettt's High Capacity Kit Company (MGKTC). MGKTC continued production until 1957 when it merged with another kit company, White Motor Corp., to form White Motors Corporation (WMC). WMC continued production until 1978 when it merged with American Car Parts Incorporated (ACP) to form American Car Parts Corporation (ACP). During World War II, Goodlettt's produced aircraft parts such as avionics and engine components for Boeing airplanes which were used by many USAAF squadrons around the world. After hostilities ended in 1945, most of these parts continued to be manufactured by ACP until 1949 when all manufacturing operations ceased due to budget cuts at APP then merged into GMC parent corporation General Motors Corporation afteraints reprise during 1955–1957 period within Apples corporate structure as well as throughout rest of GM companies worldwide except Ford Motor Co., Chrysler Corp., International Harvester Co., Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Co., Drake Electric Light & Power Co., Electrolux Magnets Corp.. This consolidation caused layoffs for thousands of workers throughout both companies but also created new markets for AGC products which led to increased sales during 1958–1964 period attributable primarily to reactivation of wartime plant capacity back at Cadillac Plants near Detroit while closed down at plants elsewhere within GM corporations including Mexico City based Nissan automobiles manufacturer Taurus Automobiles Semiconductor Products Inc.. During this time period also other major changes occurred within conglomerate affecting marketing mix including divestitures of certain businesses resulting in concentration among remaining entities within parent corporation characterized by increasing conservatism although principally involved with selling products rather than developing them; this change has been retrospectively identified as one factor leading to stagnation or decline during late 1960s & early 1970s despite significant growth rates achieved subsequent thereto through acquisitions etc.).

Goodlettsville was founded in 1892 by three brothers who named their settlement "Goodlett". The name comes from an English word meaning "a good place to live". The Goodlettsville Post Office closed on September 25, 2009.
Goodlettsville is a town in Davidson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 9,604 at the 2010 census. Goodlettsville is home to the Goodlettsville Historic District, which has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978. The town was founded by John Goodlett and his family in 1824. The first post office in Goodlettsville was established in 1830. By 1856, Goodlett had developed a thriving cotton plantation economy with over 100 slaves working on his land. In 1865, John Goodlett died leaving behind a large estate valued at $1 million dollars today. Many of the original buildings still remain in good condition with some even being used as homes today. In 1886, James Buchanan Polk became President of the United States and renamed the new federal district for Davidson County - Henderson Valley Federal Reserve District - after himself and other prominent citizens from that area including Sam Rayburn and General Ulysses S. Grant. This made Goodlett Springs one of three places within Tennessee where banks could open up their doors (the others being Memphis and Knoxville). A prominent businessman and banker from Henderson Valley named Waddell Richards opened what would become Nashville's first bank there in 1907 – Richards Bank & Trust Company – just east of downtown on Third Street between Broadwalk and Trade Streets – making it one of only two banks west of Jackson Square during that time period! Richards also served as Mayor of Nashville from 1917 to 1921 Goodlettvillians came together to celebrate their centennial anniversary back home in 2018 through various events such as an appearance by Vice President Mike Pence at a BBQbecue event; picnics; street fairs; appearances by historical figures like VP Pence Atomic bombs were dropped over Hiroshima on August 6th 1945 killing more than 60,000 people including many children who lived near Daiichi Shunju Elementary School which had sustained damage due to the bomb explosions
