The mill had five floors with a sawmill on the top floor and two gristmills on basement levels; it produced flour for local markets as well as export to other countries. By 1860, there were over 100 people living in Goodlettvsville when it was renamed "Benton" by Nathan Bedford Forrest II, Confederate general during the American Civil War (1861-65). In 1865, good old fashioned cotton farming became an important part of local life as more people moved into this area to work in mills or farm produce production following Reconstruction efforts following the American Civil War (1861-65). With demand for cotton high across much of America during this time period due to technological advances brought about by industry such as railroads and hat factories along with rising prices driven by global interest rates at that time - farmers turned to irrigation systems to increase yields while still keeping land useimble given changing needs within their communities/counties/states etc.).
