Germantown is a small town in Hardin County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,564 at the 2010 census. Germantown is located on the banks of the Holston River and is close to the Nashville metropolitan area. The community began as a settlement around 1790 and was named after Captain George Monckwood of HMS "Enterprise" who landed there with his forces during the American Revolution. The first school in Germantown was built in 1802 by Father John Ireland. In 1830, James Aitken donated land for a gristmill which became one of the earliest commercial operations in Germantown. By 1840, residents had organized into a Methodist church and transportation to market became available allowing more people to live and work in the community. Over time, businesses such as J C Penney & Co., Coca-Cola Company, Ford Motor Company, Sears Roebuck & Co., among others developed within the confines of what is now known as First Baptist Church (founded 1836). Today's Germantown continues its history as an agricultural center with large farms that produce hay, cotton and other crops; it also has sizable amounts of manufacturing including apparel companies such as Hanes Corporation (established 1916), PC World (1996), JBL Audio/Video (1998) and Philipslite Lighting Incorporated (2006). At its height during World War II many factory jobs were created here but now much of this activity takes place outside of town due to advances in production technology. The Community has experienced some growth over recent years thanks to incorporation into Shelby County; however much of this has occurred along Interstate 25 which skirts along its southern border making it difficult for residents to commute into town for shopping or other activities characteristic of rural communities such as farming or fishing. Despite this limitation Local officials are committed to preserving Germantown's unique character while working collaboratively with neighboring municipalities towards common goals including promoting economic development within their boundaries while preserving natural resources essential for both residents and businesses

The history of Weapon Flashlights begins with the development of candles and lanterns. Flame-throwers – which consisted of a small mouthpiece through which flamethrowers could be delivered – were used by militaries in the 16th century AD to light up battles during religious ceremonies. In 1775, David White invented a candle lighter that he called the “Warbonnet Light”. This improved candle lighter was designed to make it easier for soldiers to carry candles while on battle field. The Warbonnet Light was later adopted by the American Revolution as part of their military uniforms. In 1846, Jacob Riis started using gas lamps on trains in New York City. This new type of lamp allowed for better visibility in dark environments and led to the development of flashlight technology. A few years later, George Eastman began manufacturing oil-basedflashlight bulbs under his company “Leupold & Company”. These bulbs were quickly proven inadequate for use as torches due to their low intensity and short life expectancy; however, they did provide a valuable service in helping officers use night vision equipment effectively. In 1955, Ivan Reitman introduced his “Rifle eye” handgun sight system onto the market; this sight allowed shooters to aim handguns accurately utilizing reticle markings on lenses located above each barrel window (see Figure 1). This innovation created a standard method for firearm owners across many countries to target their shots without havingto fumble around with Weaver sights or other types of aiming aids (reviewed here). With Rifle Eye sights becoming more common throughout Europe and North America, weapon flashes began appearing on firearms at an increasing rate (Figure 2). As rifle sighting systems became more refined over time, revolver owners began installing Laser Sighting Systems onto their revolvers (LSS systems use lasers instead of candles or lanterns) in order increase accuracy when shooting at targets beyond 100 yards using iron sights (reviewed here). By 1990 though most all pistol owners had some form of LSS system installed on their pistols (See Figure 3).
