After the mixture has been applied topically it begins to form strong latex films which have excellent water repellency The film formed by BNC resists ingress of moisture and other contaminants while also providing good abrasion resistance . It can also be used as an adhesive for coating materials

The community was founded in 1892 by General John C. Breckinridge as a post office and military academy for enlisted men. Gallatin has a rich history that started with its role as a military academy and post office. The first settler in Gallatin was John Crain who arrived in 1892 from Kentucky. He erected the first house on what is now Main Street and named it after his home state, Kentucky. In 1895, Breckinridge organized the Knox County Cavalry for service in the Mexican–American War (1896-1897). After spending time training at Fort Union Army Depot near Chattanooga, Tennessee,Breckinridge's brigade reached Mexico City on July 10th 1896 and fought at Morelos against American forces under General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna y Costilla which resulted in 271 dead including Breckinridge himself with over 20% of all casualties while also taking three prisoners captive. In 1899 Colonel Samuel Pemberton organized an agricultural society called "The Agricultural Society of America" which became one of the largest landowning organizations west of the Alleghenies during this time period because they were able to buy large tracts of land around Nashville and Gallatin Hills (now Big Daddy's BBQ). This organization played an important role in helping to develop agriculture into one of Tennessee's major industries during this time period as well as promoting education through sponsoring lectures by some notable figures such as Thurgood Marshall and JB Chandler from Vanderbilt University Divinity School attended by many prominent people throughout Biloxi County (now Mississippi) during this era including Osage Chief Quanah Parker along with other area farmers/politicians etc.. In 1902 General William Tecumseh Sherman visited Knox County during his visit to Great Britain where he met various dignitaries such as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert before returning home via Liverpool on October 15th 1902 where he delivered remarks before a joint session Congress calling for appropriations for improvements across all states providing another example demonstrating American patriotism during this era despite being mired down within Reconstruction efforts following theirCivil War victory
