The BB Guns Company continued to be very successful and in 1922, they merged with another firearm manufacturer, Browning Firearms Corporation. This made the BB Guns Company one of the largest firearms manufacturers in the world.
Elizabethton is a small town in Hardee County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 3,907 at the 2010 census. The town is located on the Cumberland River and includes the communities of Afton, Bedford, Bethlehem, Elizabethton Village, Hermitage, Johnstown and Nazareth. The first settler in what became Elizabethton was Isaac Robertson in 1802. In 1821 David Dixon founded the village of Elizabethton Village on land that he had purchased from David Jones. By 1825 there were twelve families living in Elizabethton Village. In 1865 Nathan Bedford bought the remaining land from David Dixon and organized it into a Township. On December 1st of that year Elizabethton Township was chartered with a population of 906 people including 131 slaves In 1870 another group of settlers moved to what became Elizabethton when they purchased two hundred acres (80 ha) north of present day Afton for $4 per acre On July 6th of that year a post office called "Bedford" was established at the east end of present day Bedford Creek by Samuel Wilkinson On October 12th 1875 James Hinton opened up a store in ElizabethTONVillage which functioned as an early stage mercantile business until about 1886 when it closed down due to lack of customers Heinrich Heisser established his grocery store on Main Street near where Anthony's Pizza now stands on November 8th 1896 . It would be here that many moonshine operations took place before being shut down around 1940 . Heinrich Heisser passed away in 1979 leaving behind an extensive grocery empire including Anthony's Pizza Today

Elizabethton, Tennessee is a small town in Butts County, Tennessee. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. In 1811, Elizabethton was founded by Captain John Sevier as an agricultural community on the Cumberland River. It became a trading post and then a small town in 1824. In 1829, it became the county seat of Butts County. Theetta Baylor acquired land in Elizabethton and built a large cotton plantation there in 1830-31. During Reconstruction in America, Elizabethton served as one of the few black towns in Georgia. After the Civil War ended,Elizabethton grew slowly to its current size until World War II when it exploded with growth due to wartime demand for cotton. By 1960%, Elizabethton had become largely white again and lost most of its African American residents except for a handful of workers on Baylor's plantation who continued to reside there until their death in the early 1990s.
In the year 1800, Elizabethton was founded by James Hance and his wife Ann. The town was named after Elizabeth, one of the wives of General Andrew Jackson. The first settler in the area was John Cline who built a cabin on the present day corner of Old Kemptville Road and Birch Street. In 1824, settlers from Kentucky arrived and began to grow wheat. A mill was started in 1827 which manufactured flour for local consumption. The town developed into a small rural community with businesses such as haystack, cooperage, store, sawmill and school serving locals and tourists alike. Elizabethton experienced its most dramatic growth during World War II when it became an important military hub for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The TVA constructed major dams in the area which created new jobs and helped expand water supplies for Knoxville and other cities downstream. After the war, Elizabethton experienced a period of decline which was reversed by economic revitalization in the early 21st century. Today, Elizabethton is a thriving community with many cultural attractions including several museums including Appalachian Folklife Museum and Cherokee Village Museum; arts venues such as Pritchett Symphony Hall;and outdoor recreation opportunities such as hiking/biking trails around Birch Creek Preserve or fishing at nearby Lake Barkley
