East Ridge is a small village in Sumner County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,828 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Nashville metropolitan area. The name "East Ridge" comes from the ridge that rises abruptly to meet the Cumberland Mountains on one side and the Bluegrass Hills on the other. East Ridge was platted in 1851 by Alfred Swayne and James McMillin, who named it for their father-in-law, General John Sevier (1789-1868). At first there were just six families living here; today there are about ninety residents. The community began as a farming town with large gardens laid out around a central square. Today's businesses include two grocery stores and four restaurants. Many people here still farm; some produce apples or grapes for local markets or sell tomatoes or other vegetables at roadside stands. There are also several small wineries located around town. The main drag in town is Main Street which runs through downtown and features several stoplights including one onsite at Eastridge Elementary School which marks the intersection of US Highway 421/Tennessee State Route 291E/US Highway 412 (the old alignment of I-65). Other important roads running through town are West Main Street which connects East Ridge with neighboring towns of Lenoir City to the north and Lebanon to the south, Middle Fork Road which runs parallel to US 421W between Eastridge and Lenoir City, as well as Old Hickory Boulevard which links eastbound US 421W with westbound Tennessee State Route 291E/US Highway 412 near Crossville before terminating at I-65 exit 221A in Nashville

East Ridge, Tennessee is a small town located in Williamson County, Tennessee. The population was 1,853 at the 2000 census. East Ridge is part of the Memphis metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1872 by farmers who migrated from Kentucky to find land in what is now Williamson County. The first post office in East Ridge was opened in 1879. In 1893, the community became a stop on the Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad. The railroad closed down in 1984, but its tracks still run through the community today. In 1948, East Ridge annexation made it a city. In 1967, Eastern High School merged with Westside High School to become Eastridge Central High School. East ridge has been home to many businesses over the years including Ford Factory (now Daingerfield), Branch Drugstore (now Joe's Hardware), and First National Bank (now Bank of America). One of the most famous buildings in Eastridge is Eastern High School which was built by Orville Stephenson in 1902-04 and remains one of the most iconic high schools in Tennessee today. A few miles north of town lies Springdale which also experienced some growth during this time period as well as east side annexed into Eastridge later that same year becoming Springdale Municipal Airport

East Ridge is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hardin County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "East Ridge" was given to the mountain range that rises from the southeast corner of Hardin County to form a ridge running west-southwest across much of eastern and central Tennessee. According to one account, the name was given to this range by General Andrew Jackson as he advanced eastward during the War for Independence in 1775. The first permanent settlers on East Ridge were men who had been brought over by General James Robertson in 1819, when he donated land for a community on his estate called Forksville. For many years it was considered part of Chattanooga proper until it became an independent CDP in 1968. One of the earliest businesses in East Ridge was Journeys Store which opened its doors in 1827. This store served as both a post office and general store until 1959 when it closed its doors permanently due to financial troubles. In 1951, Eastern Electric Cooperative began operations at what is now known as Joe's Pizza located at 4015 Elam Rd., just off I-24 north of East Ridge apartments and shopping center developments along Clinton Pike (exit 529A). Joe's Pizza would become one of Eastridge's most popular tourist attractions with customers coming from all over Chattanooga for their favorite pizza joints including Papa John's Pizza (originally named Donny's Pizza), Domino's Pizza, etc.. After more than 50 years of operation, Joe's Pizza closed its doors permanently on October 10th, 2006 after serving its last pizza order late night on October 9th! In 1969 TCI Corporation relocated their corporate headquarters from Decatur GA to Chattanooga following their acquisition of Westinghouse Broadcasting Company’s local TV stations group including WTHR / CBS 4/WJAX / WTKR / KTVT / WECT / WHNT – making them Tennessee’s only television company with its own newsroom and transmitter facilities outside Memphis TN! TCI’s new headquarters would remain operational through 1984 when they sold their assets back intoWestinghouse ownership and ceased operations within Knoxville TN; before being demolished later that year!
