This event is known as the Battle ofEast Ridge Green. After the war ended, East Ridge experienced some growth; it became an incorporated town in 1865 and continued to grow until it reached its current size in 1920. The town hosted a number of events such as agricultural shows and fairs during its time as an incorporated municipality; these events attracted attention from many local residents and inspired other towns to begin incorporation themselves too.
