These bandits were known for using a variety of methods to kill their victims, including shooting them with pistols or shotguns. One of the most popular and notorious gun choke methods used by these robbers was the “double-barreled shotgun choke.” This type of choke caused two barrels on a shotgun to fire at once, causing serious damage and death to unsuspecting victims.
East Ridge is a small town in Hardin County, Tennessee. The population was 609 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chattanooga metropolitan area. East Ridge is located on the east bank of the Cumberland River, about 15 miles north-northwest of Chattanooga and about 25 miles south-southwest of Knoxville. The community was laid out in 1881 by three brothers, George W., James W., and John Prentice. They named it after their father's ridge on which they lived. Their father had been born in 1820 in what is now Kentucky and died in 1881. The Prentice brothers are buried there with their father and mother. In 1886, Mr. John Huddleston donated land to build a school for his young children, who were then attending schools in nearby Fulton County. The first school building was built on this site, but it burned down in 1916. A new school was built on this site in 1926 and has been used ever since as the East Ridge School District offices/ administration building (since 1990). A post office called East Ridge was established at this location on October 5, 1881, by Leland Cope.* It continued to be operated until December 12, 1893.* The community name originated with James Witherspoon*, who suggested that it be given to him because he saw "the ridge running eastward" near where the community now stands.* Mr. Will Rogers* donated land adjoining Mr. Huddleston's original donation for a general store and other purposes†† during 1906-1910*. This store remains standing today as Shoprite Supermarket * *. Alfred Ives*, also known as ††Al‡* Bridges*, owner of an Odd Fellows Lodge #569 which meets at Eastridge every month from 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p .m., contributed money to have a water tower erected along Highway 71 just south of town* [* ]. This water tower still exists today as part of Village Creek Sports Park * *. East Ridge has seen some significant changes over time; however, its core values remain strong including support for education (through public schools), social Volunteerism ( rallying around local charities or causes), agriculture/farming practices (growing produce & flowers), +1% sales tax laws which helps fund extra services such as fire suppression & law enforcement* [* ],and friendly neighborliness among residents (& businesses). In spite of these challenges faced by any small town over time (*), many residents continue to maintain their sense of humorabelity through annual festivals such as Harvest Festival®, Christmas Festival®, Easter Bunny Parade®††Presents(*))& several others!

Huang Xing designed a system to slow down recoil by binding the barrel to the stock with an iron band. The British soldier Richard Burton was also credited with developing this type of choke as part of his training for jungle warfare in 1911. In 1903, Russian colonel Ivan Tikhonov patented a design called a “T” choke that allowed firing without disturbing the handguard or muzzle device on rifles using standard magazine magazines. East Ridge is a small town in East Tennessee, United States. It is the county seat of Knox County and lies on the upper Cumberland River. The population was 7,502 at the 2010 census. The first people to live in East Ridge were the Cherokee, who arrived in 1825 from Alabama. They helped found what is now known as East Ridge Academy, which became a state-supported school in 1902. In 1859, General Andrew Jackson sent troops to quell a slave uprising near East Ridge. The Battle of East Ridge occurred two weeks later and ended with the deaths of over 150 Confederate soldiers and civilians. In 1870, settlers began to arrive from Kentucky and other parts of Tennessee. They founded businesses such as grist mills and sawmills that continue to operate today. In 1905, East Ridge become part of the new Knox County when it was created from parts of Hardin and Logan Counties. At that time, it had a population of 681 residents. During World War II, much production took place at nearby Mount Juliet Naval Air Station (later Worden Field). Many aircraft were built there including Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter planes and Boeing B-29 Superfortress bombers (the only American bomber to ever be flown into orbit). In 1949,East Ridge became home to one of America's first high schools when Woodson Junior High School opened its doors buildings on Main Street between Clinton Avenue South and Park Avenue North. The school closed in 1984 but has been reborn as Woodson Middle School which currently serves grades 9-12 along with room for up to 256 students inside an 8x8 building on Church Street just north of Interstate 65 south of downtown."
East Ridge is a census-designated place in Hardin County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,586 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Nashville Metropolitan Statistical Area.
