Today there are several interpretive panels located throughout town commemorating this important milestone in town history including one near the old train depot that features an example of a wagon wheel with its axle still attached! In 1932 Collierville experienced its worst economic downturn since World War I when many businesses closed due to plant closings along with much job loss during the Great Depression.
