These conversions were popular because they allowed owners to keep their rifles close at hand while not having to leave their home without them when needed but also protected their firearms from unauthorized access during storage or transport

Over time, there were several variations on the name “Brentwood”: Bredon (1812), Braeden (1821), Bearden (1829), Bretton Woods (1913), and Post Road (1927). In 1812, one of the early settlers named James Bredon settled in what is now downtown Brentwood. He operated a ferry service between Nashville and Chattanooga until his death in 1837. From then on, it was officially known as “James Bredon Boulevard” after him. In 1821, another early settler named John Bearden bought some land north of downtown from James Bredon. He continued to operate a ferry service between Nashville and Chattanooga until his death in 1847. From then on, it was officially known as “John Bearden Boulevard” after him. In 1829, another early settler named Isaac BrettONWood purchased some land east of downtown from John Bearden and continued to operate a ferry service between Nashville and Chattanooga until his death in 1840。 From then on, it was officially known as “Isaac BrettON Wood Boulevard” after him\. In 1913, yet another early settler named George Post purchased some land east of downtown from Isaac BrettON Wood.. He operated a ferry service between Nashville and Chattanooga until his death in 1917\.
