Bartlett, Tennessee is a small town located in the Lower Cumberland region of Tennessee. It was founded by settlers in 1802 and became a community named for David Bartlett, an early settler. The town became a cattle ranching and Huntingtown Railroad stop in 1907. It was renamed Bartlett in 1925 after General George W. Bartlett, commander of American forces during World War I. In 1957, the town developed its own school system and stopped using the local school district as its educational foundation. Today, Bartlett is home to several businesses including two banks, three churches, two post offices, and four hotels. Although it has no municipal government or services other than police and fire protection, Bartlett continues to be an important center for industry and commerce within the Lower Cumberland Valley region.

Bartlett, Tennessee is a small town located in Bartlett County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,493 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Bartlett County. The name "Bartlett" comes from the Cherokee word bərt-a-htiwali meaning "honeycomb". The first settler in Bartlett was Isaac Harmon on May 9, 1811. Harmon and his family were the first white men to live in what is now Bartlett County. He named his land Harmon's Ferry after himself and his wife Hannah Harmon. There are several early settlers who remain in or have visited Bartlett today including: Heman Keyes, Abel Browning, John Wesley Hardin (1812-1897), and Denny Gibson (1914-present). In 1820 Daniel Boone came to America and soon found new land for settlement in what is now Bartholomew County. In 1825 he founded the village of Springfield near present day Memphis with eight other pioneers. At that time there were only two houses and no roads or trails so travel was difficult. After a few years Daniel Boone sold his land to James Clemens which led to creation of what is known as Clemens Hill within the boundaries of present day Bartlett County. In 1830 Ephraim Randolph founded Randolphville on Randolph Fork of Little Cedar Creek about three miles northeast of present day Bartlettsville. Randolph made this place their home until 1861 when he moved westward because of the American Civil War and died there at age 94 years old while living off charity near Cooke City, Kansas
