From then on, all GUNS Magazine owners had to obtain a license from the city government to keep their magazines operative within Athens limits- this was done so that no one could make profits off of selling weapons without licenses from the city hall! After The Gun Store closed down its doors in 1978, gun magazines continued to operate within Athens for another several decades before they finally went out of business around 1990-1991 due to rising prices for ammunition and other related supplies which made it difficult for people to keep their magazines operational. The early history of Athens can be traced back to 1825 when James Dickey bought 640 acres east of present day downtown Athens for $6 per acre. This land included what is now most of downtown Athens; portions still stand today including Banks Place on First Street NW and Second Avenue SW. Dickey built a house on this land which became known as "Dickey's Dome." In 1902, Jules Ferry purchased 3/8 mile east of present day downtown from JCPenney for $5 per acre dollars due to its low price at that time given by President John Quincy Adams just prior to his death in 1824! Ferry renamed it Elmwood Park after his estate in Long Island where he lived until his death in 1865 at age 73 years old! This purchase made him one of the earliest owners within what would becomeKnox County; other early settlers included Daniel Boone who bought 7 miles northwest of modern day downtown Knoxville in 1798.; Colonel James Robertson whoPurchase 3/4 mile southoutheast of center City limits near modern day Mount Juliet sold 1/2 mile southeast corner towards future downtown Chattanooga on July 10th 1800., General Andrew Jackson who acquired an additional 1/4 mile SE from river crossing about three miles northwest today’s College Hill Road between Old Hickory Flats Rd./Nashville Rd./Blount Rd./Old Hocking Hills Rd./Alcoa Road Dec 6th 1830., Drury & Caldwell Co TN Land Office plat dated January 25th 1799.(see map) These individuals had little choice but to settle here because they knew this area would become part of their county if not already so! Today's downtown areas were developed primarily during Reconstruction following World War II when many people fled southern Italy following fascism and fascism's allies' aggression against northern Europe; these refugees were called "Granite fever" because many Properties like Banks Place were developed with granite boulders brought into town specifically for military barracks etc.. After WWII ended however many people returned home including some Greeks who integrated into local community again after 1947 along with others coming from all over America looking for opportunity associated with post war reconstruction – something that continues today!!! Today nearly every householder knows someone connected somehow or another related to Knox County through birth or residency! As such we are proudirens locals heirs apparent descendants or friends forevermore!!!!
